The location of American is awesome because it is in the suburbs of D.C., so it doesn't feel like living in a city, but the Metro is right by campus and you can easily go anywhere in the city. American also has a great international relations program and the location just makes it better.

It is locatedwithin the capital city of the United States. but it still has its own campus.

American University is community service oriented, friendly, and extremely focused on reaching out to the oppurtunities the city of Washington, DC has to offer.

it has the advantage of being in a major city (washington d.c.) but the immediate area surrounding the school is suburban so it wasn't a drastic change for me.

American Unitiversity is the most politically active college in the US. We take pride in our participation and knowledge both on domestic and foreign politics. We also have a large population of students who are from other countries which is great when your learning about international affairs and can get a first-hand point of view. The professors are also highly qualified and experienced.

There are a lot of international students and very politically active students and consequently we get a lot of visiting foreign dignitaries. There is no football team but everyone still has a lot of school spirit.

It is very liberal, very inclusive, city adjacent, and closeby to relatives of mine. And it also has a very good Arabic department.

AU is very active politically. I believe it is the most politically active campus in the country. The students are very comitted to politics and the environment--the election was bigger than any sports event we're had on campus.

American University has a strong committment to public service and encourages students to follow their passion. The faculty is intelligent, approachable, and distinguished. AU welcomes many prominent speakers, guest lecturers, and well-known professors. Students have every opportunity for leadership within the university and I'm always amazed by my fellow students committment to making a better world.

Definately the teachers and the relationships with the teachers, the internships and student clubs and involvements.
