Everyone drinks and parties hard, everyone is hooking up and not dating, everyone gets perfect grades in their classes, students are generally apathetic, everyone comes from an affluent background, everyone is constantly exercising and very healthy, and so on

Abby

BC is full of preppy, rich, white kids. The girls are trashy and act like high schoolers, the guys are "bros" and act like assholes. As for the school itself, people usually get turned off by the idea of a Jesuit university.

Claire

Kyle

At the risk of sounding pessimistic, BC is rife with tools. What precisely do I mean? The kinds of kids that pretty much had it easy their whole lives, and BC is just another step along the way. A lot of the kids are well off and it seems as if the campus is made for people with money. There is pretty obvious divide between the white students as opposed to students of color, and at times the socioeconomic divide is very evident as well. Football is huge here and so is drinking. Most of the guys are jerks and most of the girls are uppity and high maintenance. Dating is almost non-existent. The Jesuits are nice and the majority of the faculty are too. I wish they would put more emphasis on the character and personality of the students.

Andrew

They are self-centered, never go out of their way to help others, remain in cliques, and fail to travel far from campus.

Andy

A lot of people believe that BC is "jcrew with a hangover" and that the students drink a lot. There is also another stereotype that all students are religious at BC.

Paul

Rich, spoiled, partiers

Cameron

BC has long had a reputation as being a 'J. Crew' school, as most students would look natural in the company's catalog. Subsequently, BC is frequently believed to be a predominately rich, white school whose members are overly concerned with their image and body type.

Kaitlin

Smart, Rich, Ego-centric are some of the negative stereotypes, but I think positive stereotypes include well-rounded, sports-loving, fun, intellectual, and involved.

Lawrence

there are many stereotypes, most of which are true. there are lots of rich kids at bc, lots of white people compared to where i come from, lots of catholics (not a bad thing obviously).

Whitney

Most people think that BC is filled with preppy, rich kids. A lot of people think that since it is a Jesuit institution, we are pontificated to about religion all the time.

Ruth

The stereotypes that exist differ for each race. For Whites, it's that everyone wears J. Crew, is rich, exercise extensively, that the girls only eat salad, you know the type. For African-Americans it's that everyone here is either an athlete or attending this school because of affirmative action. There's also the stereotype that all athletes (at least male) are whores.

AJ

Most people think that BC students are stuck-up spoiled rich kids. The general consensus is that we are intelligent but arrogant.

Riley

That everyone is a polo-wearing, Grey Goose-drinking, filthy rich brat.

Abby

The biggest stereotype about BC is that everyone looks like they just walked off the pages of a J.Crew magazine. The "typical BC girl" wears Ugg boots, leggings, and a Northface fleece; accessorizes with a Vineyard Vines or Longchamp bag; and tops off her look with a pair of chicly over-sized sunglasses. Another prevalent stereotype is that BC students live and die by their sports teams-- just look for the gold superfan shirts.
