The professors don't only know your name, they usually know what is going on in your life, and ask how you are doing. The professors really care about what they are teaching. There are so many amazing professors, faculty, and staff on campus who invest themselves in Cabrini and in you. There are many different classes for all interests.Cabrini offers classes that vary from 'The Idea of Beauty' to the 'History of American Baseball'. As an education major some of my classes are so valuable. I have taken classes like movement for children, teaching social studies, math, and language arts. Other classes that are invaluable are Super Science which counts towards my science teaching methods class and my core science requirement. Especially the field work I do, where I teach inside a classroom once a week each semester until student teaching. Many of the majors have internship classes built into the requirements to graduate, so you will not leave Cabrini without experience in your field. Professors even do research with students and independent study courses. One of the most unique courses I have taken thus far would have to be Honors Sociology of Happiness. The class focused on what it is that makes people happy! Other interesting classes I have taken were Social Psych, Honors Psychology in the Media, and an English class focusing on cultural values!

Professors definitely know you! My classes are all really small especially as a senior in my major classes. Some of my favorite classes have been, The Sociology of Happiness, Seminar 100 Culture & Identity, and Creative Writing. In the Biology major, you get to use high tech equipment that most small liberal arts schools would not have. There is plenty of opportunities to do undergraduate research, internships, and present at academic conferences. I never found students to be competitive here, students work together and help eachother out. It depends on your major how often you have to study- some majors require a lot, others require more projects & hands-on learning.

Professors are very personal. They know your name, major, sometimes cellphone number, and about your life. They know what kind of student you are, and if you ask, are more than willing to help. I wouldn't trade them for anything.
Biology, especially Biotechnology, is a challenging major made only for the serious science student. It'll help you get far in your career.
The languages are made up of friendly faculty that love to help out. It's easy to get along with them.

All of the professors will know your name in class. The class ratio is always small. Cabrini is very big on social justice and it is a big part of the core curriculum. They like to get their students involved with the community as well. I am a communication major and I know that if I had gone anywhere else besides Cabrini I would not have had the opportunities I have had here. The classes are amazing and taught by teachers who actually still work in the field. Our video professor, Cathy Yungmann, actually worked in a real television studio and has that real life experience. The communication professors know exactly how to peak our interest in a certain subject and how to encourage us to say YES to every opportunity thrown our way. They encourage us to do our very best and if we need help, we know that they are there for us no matter what time of day it is.

At Cabrini, class sizes are very small with only 15 to 20 students per class. You are one-on-one time with professors and are able to get to know them beyond a professional, academic level. Professors strive for you to succeed and most will go out of their way to help you (even giving their home/cell numbers so you can call them anytime!).
