Dear Past Self,
All four years of high school you were wishing and planning for college. You have stressed yourself out to no end by the end of senior year. My advice to you is to stop worrying about the future to the extent you do. Life only comes once and time is a precious blessing, but unfortunatly is also a curse. Take your time with the future. Live in the present. College will come and as exciting as it is, it is only going to be what you make it. There are opportunities thrown your way, day after day. It is your responsibility to take them. Please take them. Do NOT let experiences slip through your fingers. Be alert and alive for it all. Your dorm bed and surrounding walls may be just a little bit comfortable, but step outside of that comfort. Everyone is in the same boat, so stop overthinking everything. Take a chance and get lunch with someone new. Building relationships with people is one of the most important aspects of college. Friends will help you adjust. Learn to love life and college will be amazing.
Sincerely,
Your future, much more wise, Self.
Rachel
The most valuable thing that I have learned during my college experience is to incorporate the things that I value in to every aspect of life, including my academic work. Working towards personal goals is key to mantaining a possitive attuditude and completing work effectively. When I was in high school I didn't realize how much of an impact my mind-set had on achieving my goals. It was during my time at college that I began to see myself really excel in the work that I was passionate about. I also found I had a difficult time moitavting myself for assignments that I thought were irrelevant to my personal values. My advice would be to incorporate my passions and personal interests into as may areas of my school work as possible, including projects, assignments, and ectra curricular activies. I believe if you spend the majority of your time doing things that your value you will be both happier and more productive.

Always keep your door open, some of the best social moments were completely impromptu as someone was walking by. Join theatre right off the bat, and keep going.

Cabrini has just been the most perfect school for me. Everything is just right. The campus is absolutely beautiful and is what sold me on Cabrini in the first place. The only word I can think to perfectly describe its campus is nature. Woodsy areas surround the campus and wildlife is seen most every day. Countless amounts of deer and turkey roam the campus and it's awesome for someone like me who grew up loving the outdoors. Another wonderful thing about the location of Cabrini is that we are only twenty-five minutes away from the city of Philadelphia. This is great for internships, class trips, and other important academic experiences. I took a history class and we learned a lot about the history of the city and it was great to just hop on a train and see everything we had just learned about. Another important part of my experience was the opportunties available to become involved at Cabrini. I tried so many different things this past year, it was wonderful! I'm now an orientation leader, ambassador for the school and I also help out with CAP Board and student activities.

Through my experience at Cabrini College i have made special bonds with new people, being friends as well as factuly. In being a psychology major i have been able perform multiple research studies using my own research and analyzing my own data. This will certainly help me for graduate school and for any future job that i may have. Also, at Cabrini College faculty and staff strive to help students to succeed. Professors are approachable and are always available for any help that a student may need. In addition to this students are able to form a personal and close relationship with their professors throughout their time at Cabrini College due to the fact that Cabrini is a smal school and classrooms are rather small. Having professors who care about you as an individual and are always available to help their students succeed are valuable qualities that Cabrini College is proud to have.

If i could return to the past and warn myself about college i would not change to much. I would tell myself to prepare early foe college financially since i feel that i was not ready for the burden. I would also tell myself to have fun and meet new people. I would also say work hard and stay motivated because there are many thing that may distract you. i would also say have fun and enjoy your time.

Not to worry college is honestly what you make of it. If you want to be lazy and fail then that is what will happen. If you choose to make a difference and work hard at Cabrini you can do extraordinary things!

If I were able to go back in time and talk to myself as a highschool senior, I would not tell myself anything different than I told myself then: just breathe -- and everything will be okay; everything happens for a reason. I firmly believe that I chose Cabrini College for a reason and it has benefitted me in numerous ways, especially because it is known for elementary and special education majors, which I am majoring in. I appreciaite the opportunity that Cabrini offers in regard to student teacher at such an early age. The advisors, students, coaches and professors are extremely approachable and more than willing to go out of their way to assist me, especially my advisor and coach. I feel confident in knowing that I am a senior and will be graduating in due time; I feel that I will be able to make a difference in the schools in a positive manner. The teaching theories and approaches are more modern, which I feel is also to the students' benefit. The material, classroom management techniques and experiences of my peers are also reassuring in knowing that I am capable and will make a difference to students.

Stand up for yourself and your belifs, and don't feel pressured to be a part of anything you are uncomfortable with. College is everything that you make of it.
