California State University-Sacramento Top Questions

What do you consider the worst thing about California State University-Sacramento? Why?

Gabrielle

Its not really bad but what bugs me alot is the fact that the nursing program at sacramento state is highly competative and impacted. Not only is it competative and impacted at Sacramento State but it is so everywhere else. But that shouldn't be the reason to not attend this school. I think of it as a way to push me to my limit to try harder and to do my best in order to provide the nursing department a willing, strong, and dedicated individual.

Laura

Sac State is a commuter school, so students don't have the same sense of community and school spirit that is typical at other universities.

Michelle

California State University, Sacramento is just as much a commuter school as a large university. Although many people attend Sacramento State from places far away, there are also many students who attend from the Sacramento area and commute to school. This leads to not as much activity, both during the week and over weekends.

Lorena

Not enough food variety

Kyle

The majority of students commute to campus from the surrounding Sacramento area. The campus dies off around 6:00 PM and is completely dead Friday through Sunday. If more students were to live closer to campus there would be a more positive school spirit on campus.

Stephanie

The classroom buildings, because they are outdated and in need to be repaired and expanded. Some class rooms will be too small for the class size and there is not accessibility to newer technology.

Amanda

Parking is very hard to find and expensive. It's a commuter campus and they charge $5 for parking no matter how long you're there and there is minimal temporary parking.

Sanjeet

When I can't get into my classes, because there are so many few classes offered.

Jason

The worst thing about my school is the size. Sacramento State has over 28,000 students and growing. It's easy to get lost in the crowd.

Chris

However, CSUS is a commuter school and most of the students seemed to have full time jobs. Since the academic standards seem low most students do just what they have to do to get a grade and get out. If academic requirements and standard of grading were more stringent I would have gotten more out of my educational experience.

Pamela

it is a commuter campus, so there is not much school spirit.

Devin

I only thing i really done like is all the walking I have to do on campus. this campus is a long rectangle and i have to do a lot of walking everyday.

Nina

The worst thing about my school definitely has to be parking. There is nearly 30,000 students that come here and parking is hard. There has been numerous times that I was late or even had to miss class due to parking. It really makes getting to school on time hard.

Patricia

I believe the worst thing about my school is the cost of attending, becuase it makes it difficult to attend as well as the difficulty to focus on school work because of the added stress of finances.

Denise

I really do't have anything bad to say about Sacramento State.

Veronica

The parking prices are very high

Lao

I think the worst thing at my school is parking because there are not much parking garages.

Dante

I am not sure as to what the worst thing is about my school. I seem to like every aspect of it and wont change it for anything.

Nicole

Lack of school pride. It's a commuter campus so it is really hard to get roots in the school. For the first three years, I simply went to class and then went home. It was not until my fourth year that I got really involved in the entertainment industry on campus and felt that I had developed friends from the campus.

Marisa

I hate that CSUS is a commuter campus. Students come from around the state to go to CSUS, but don't live in Sacramento. There is little sense of community or belonging there. There is no school spirit or school community around the campus. The school sports are unpopular with the general student population because everyone takes there classes, studies, and minds there own business. Many students will not make any friends from their classes because they have no desire to be socially involved/committed to the university. Students graduate without a sense of pride of their university.
