The advice I will give myself is to really consider the location you will like to attend college because I was told Ohio was far and was cold. However I really did not pay attention because I thought it was going to be like my home town . I had realized that the weather is much colder than what I thought and it is something I am not use to. I also realized that my school is very far from home, it is an 8 hour drive from DC, which is very tiring. I eventually had to get use to it, if I am going to stay at CSU. I will also tell myself to continue what I am doing through high school because the grades I have earned through my first semester were outstanding. So I will be sure to tell myself to keep working hard because it does pay off later in the future. Finally I would have told myself to feel out more scholarships because college is very expensive and it is not good to take out a lot of loans because it will hunt you later on in life when you have to pay it all back.

If I could go back in time and talk to myself as a high school senior I would talk to myself about time management, a study plan, how to go about getting books. My main problem entering college was time management. High school is very different from college because there is no one there to tell what to do and when to do it. Due to the fact I did not have my priorities in order I waisted alot of time and I always ended up craming for test or the get homework done. Another thing I would tell myself is to make a study plan. Having a study plan is very important in college because until like high school teachers college professors don't spoon feed their students. Most professors don't give homework to help students remember the material and many of the courses are based only on tests and lectures. The other things a would tell myself is how to find free text books. Sometimes texts book cost nearly two hundred dollars depending on the major. To save money freshmen can find some upperclassmen with the same major and buy them cheaper or for free.

if i could go back in time and talk to myself about college and give advice,i would tell myself that a college experience is the best thing that could ever happen to you. its where your future starts. meeting new people and experiencing new things gives you a chance to network and do what ever you like. college is what you make it. you dont have to stress yourself out about your classes or homework because there is always someone around who can lend you a helping hand and you can do the same. college is a growing and learning experience as well. high school can prepare you for whats real in the world, but once get into the real world you realize that nothing is a game. always have strength and believe in yourself. there are so many scholarships, financial aid, and a lot of everything that can help you get in to college. keeping your grades up in college is another way to earn money. college is not a stressful thing, its a fun learning and growing experience, full of people that are just like you, coming to have a good time and be happy.

I'm not your traditional college student. And by the time I became a senior in high school, I had a two year old child. Just knowing what I know now as an adult with children of my own, I would have told myself. "Self, if you are going to seek out and live the college life, you must first realize that you are now an adult with major adult responsibilities. You must always stay focused on your studies to enable you to graduate on time and allow you to excel in your studies, and always keep your options open to enable you to seek out all the support you may need be it your parents, the faculty of the university or college you are attending, friends, etc. to help your college life transition be a smooth one. And last but not least, remember to have fun! Your college years will be some of the best years of your life.

My advice to me would be to stay in school and finish. I would advise myself to keep going until all of my educational goals have been achieved. Less time would have been spent making the transition from being a young adult to becoming a seasoned adult. I do not regret making the life choices that were made for me and my family, however I would have advised myself to incorporate school in my plan a lot earlier versus now that I am near 40'ish. I see my plans as my destiny and the fact that I am able to return to school at this point in my life is a blessing.

If I could go back in time even for a few minutes I would tell myself to study harder and stay focused. I would put emphasis on how important it is to worry only about grades.

If I could go back and talk to myself as a senoir, I would tell tell myself to work harder for more scholarships. To work harder because the standards for GPAs are higher in college than high school. I would also say to organize your time because college can actually be really easy as long as you master your time. I would also tell them that it's is more than just a GPA, that it is an experience for you learn what is best for which direction to go for your life.

The first thing that I would tell myself is to spend as much time studying as possible. Even though this is one of the things I've heard most in high school and college, I would have listened better to myself. I would also tell myself even though the school that you choose may not have all of the cool things you "think" a school shouold have choose that school because of the education that you can get. Just because you may look "lame" studying keep going, you can never study enough.

Anita

I would tell myself to get as much information about my school of choice and to make sure that what the school offers is sufficient based on my needs. I'd advise myself to take advantage of all the schoold has to offer (i.e tutoring, mentoring, etc.) and to engage with my academic advisor while completing my studies. College life does not have to be difficult if students take advantage of all of what the school offers. The transition from high school to college can be an experience which can be made successfully.

Let your children follow thier dreams...at the end of the day it is up to them. Look for a school that can help you in the future especially if you are not going to a grduate program. Even if you do not get accepted to a school of your choose then accept that school and see if they have what is offered that you may desire in studing and you never know that may be the school for you after all. do your process of elimanation and that help me figure out my school and please visit the school before attending because when you get there you do not want to regret it.
