I wasn't involved in Greek life, but that seems to be a growing area for the university. There's always a musical or theatrical performance, and the university brings amazing guest speakers from filmmakers, authors and dignitaries. And being located in the quaint section of Old Towne Orange, and in the center of Orange County, there's always something to do at night--whether you want to see a movie, hang out at a local coffee shop, see a concert, head down to the beach or go to Disneyland. Only bad thing about Orange County is everything seems to close by 10 or 11 p.m. besides bars.

The dorms are a great place to meet people, just don't expect to leave your dorms open unless your living in one of the Morlans - it's a fire hazard, apparently. As dorky as it sounds, you should live on a First Year Experience hall (aka only freshmen); those halls bond so much and people who lived in them made the most friends right away. Even if you aren't, though, you'll make a lot of friends in your major classes because you'll be seeing the same people over and over. Sports gain a sizeable crowd, but they're definitely not something the entire school turns out to. Chapman brings in a lot of guest speakers and gives away free tickets to the student body for them. They also bring a musical artist once a semester; they've had Tyronne Wells a few times now. The majority of students at Chapman are not in a frat or sorority; those that are, though, are in their own little world. There aren't any official frat or sorority halls or houses. Parties take place in houses a couple blocks from campus, generally walking distance; the big ones are hosted by frats or sports' teams. They love the theme parties too. Everyone at Chapman brags about our proximity to Disneyland - it's not unusual in the slightest to hear "Oh, I'm headed to Disney for a couple hours after class." Everyone and their mom has a season pass. Orange County is made up of a lot of small towns that don't offer much besides bars, movies, and shopping, but L.A. is in jumping distance and San Diego is perfect for a weekend trip. If you're into music, it's one of the best central locations for venues making it nearly impossible to miss a tour coming through California - Glass House in Pomona, House of Blues in Anaheim, Chain Reaction in Anaheim, Avalon in LA.
