What is the stereotype of students at Clarkson University? Is this stereotype accurate?

"The odds are good but the goods are odd.". This is totally true of the Clarkson population, although every year there are more girls, and the nerdy guys, while you may never want to date them, make great friends.

Geeky. I feel as though this stereotype is true. The world is changing rapidly into such a technical super mind that in order to be successful you have to be a geek. Geeks rule the world. However, the stereotype of Clarkson being full of nerds is false in my eyes. Nerds are associated with being losers, loners, or weak. Being a geek implies knowledge, passion, drive to be the best all of which I feel the average Clarkson student has.

Being primarily an engineering school, the students of Clarkson University are often characterized as being "geeks" or "nerds". While the students at Clarkson are certainly intelligent and hard working, I still feel this stereotype is not an accurate portrayal of Clarkson's student body. From hockey players to sorority members, pep band participants to members of the Frisbee team, Clarkson is the home of virtually every type of student. The stereotype that students at Clarkson are all geeky or nerdy could not be farther from the truth; this University is a showcase of much more than that.

Students at Clarkson University are stereotyped to be bookworm engineers. This may me true to and extent due to the rigorous course work engineering involves, but a degree in engineering is not the only thing that Clarkson has to offer.

The stereotype of students at Clarkson University is that it is 90{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} guys that are all nerds that live in their dorms and play video games 24/7. The stereotype is extremely incorrect. Clarkson University is roughly composed of 60{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} guys and 40{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} girls. There are countless clubs, sports teams, and Greek life that students can be involved in.

The general stereotype of students at Clarkson University is that they are all "geeks" or "nerds", but this is extremely incorrect. While Clarkson has a very intellectual student body, it doesn't mean that all of the students are doing schoolwork all the time. I have found that there is a comfortable mix between students who spend the majority of their time studying and ones that spend an equal amount of time studying and having a social life.

Geeks from local villages near by, this stereotype is wrong. Though engineering is a big major there are many other great majors. Yes many students come from very small towns, but Clarkson has a diverse campus with students from different parts of the country
