What is the stereotype of students at Colby College?

Various stereotypes include the notion that all Colby students drink heavily, are affluent Caucasian students living 10/20 minutes outside of Boston, all go skiing on the weekends, their parents pay for everything (including parking tickets) and believe that racism and discrimination is not prevalent on campus.

I think a big stereotype about Colby is that people work hard and play hard, and I think this stereotype is very accurate. Students at Colby are highly motivated and enthusiastic about whatever they're involved with on campus- and are equally excited to participate in academic, extracurricular/social, and traditional events.

Colby students are usually said to be upper class, white, private school, cliquey students. The students here are often contrasted to the college town of Waterville, a poor historic Maine town, with a lot of character, but very little economic progression. The students have two other contrasting stereotypes as well: the students are said to be heavy drinkers, with a large population of the student body consuming alcohol every weekend; at the same time there is a stereotype that Colby students are always busy, have to get kicked out of the library after 1 or 2am, and run on coffee and redbull.
