Colby-Sawyer College Top Questions

What do you consider the worst thing about Colby-Sawyer College? Why?

Nicole

The worst thing about my college is the fact that it is very very cold. We have had snow since about October and It's the end of March and we still have a couple of feet. It is extremely windy here as well, so you have to buy a lot of clothing to keep warm or else you are guaranteed to get frost bite. I have witnessed people get it!

Robert

Would not say the worst thing because I love my school, but it can use improvements in some areas. One area is an inconvience for me is the transportation. The school has to adapt to the fact that there are students coming from out of state. There needs to be transportation for the students to travel to and from the airport. That is a down fall my school has to work on still.

The worst thing about Colby-Sawyer College is the weather in the winter. Living on top of a mountain creates strong winds that often knock out our power sending the student body home till power is recovered. Even though this might seem fun, when it happens during midterms it creates chaos. The snow storms on top of the wind calls for everyone to wear their skiing/snowboarding gear around campus. When it is not the winter season, however, the school is often beautiful on a fall or spring day with everyone outside on the quad.

Averie

Probably the worst thing is the size, there are only a little over a 1,000 students.

Katlyn

The location can bother people. The nearest city is 30 mins away. The school funds a lot of on campus activities and there are a few stores in town but to go to the movies of a restaurant you have to travel. People will car pool to go places but it would be nice if it were closer.

Kyla

The location of Colby-SAwyer is probably the worst thing because it is in a small town 20 minutes from any big store. Everything in town closes at or before 9:00pm which makes it difficult to get things off campus at night. Most people have cars though, so it makes it easier to carpool into one of the larger surrounding towns and get anything that is needed.

Kristina

The worst thing about the school is the lack of choices you would get by attending a larger campus. Examples are activities (while our school does offer a vast majority) and campus dining alternatives/plans.

Michelle

The size and financial. I just think that the school is too small and costs a lot of money. It would be helpfull if i could get support financially.
