What I love most about Colby-Sawyer is the close knit community. Being a small and rather isolated school can feel constricting to some students, but with the high availability of on campus clubs, organizations, and events, as well as resident life programming it does not take most students long to form a close groups of friends and classmates. The small campus lifestyle also fosters relationships between students and professors, allowing students to find professors who match their learning style, engage with them, and chose to take more classes in their interests.

I love how close and personal you get with the faculty and staff. You know your professors and they know you which benefits them in helping you when you need it. The entire campus is friendly and it makes you feel so welcome. The cafeteria, library and business office workers workers etc. all get to know you and they greet you in passing. It's refreshing!

The best thing about Colby-Sawyer College is that it is a very welcoming place and you will never feel alone here. It is a close community and people are generally very kind. People are always holding doors for others, even if they are not right behind you, they will stand there and hold the door because they see you coming and know your close. People are very welcoming and you will always have a friend because people care.

I do not own a car, and I get overwhelmed easily when around a lot of people; the fact that every building on campus has no more than a 10 minute walking distance, and no classroom holds more than 30 or so people, makes my life a lot less stressful than it would be if I had decided to attend a larger school.

I like the size and the involvement the teachers have with their students. This is helpful because it allows students to have a relationship on a personal level with their professors. You are a name, not a number.
