The best thing about Conn College is the close knit community. It is small, and because it's small, you'll find that you get to know professors and students on a much deeper level than you would at a larger college. Professors routinely have students over their houses for dinner or let students babysit their kids because there is such a tight community of people on the campus. The only thing I would change is the accessibility of the world outside of Conn College. The outside community is accessible on foot, sort of. You can walk to downtown New London, but it's much easier to get there if you have a car - as are much of the places outside of school. I spend most of my time on campus in the library. It's right in the center of the campus next to the student union. There's a cafe inside that makes it ideal to chat with people while you do your work.

I love this school. That really sums it up. Conn. wasn't my first choice, but after the initial shock of going to college, I realized Conn. is the perfect place for me. It's academically challenging, the students, faculty, and administrators are welcoming and helpful, the campus is beautiful, and I don't know what else I could want in a school.

Conn is a great school to go to. It's a small campus, so wherever you go it's likely that you'll see someone you know or have met before. On the flip side, it's nearly impossible to avoid someone and your business is everyones business. You'll spend the majority of your time on campus on the weekends, which is not that bad at all because there's always something going on. If you're looking for crazy frat parties and out of control drug binges, Conn is NOT the place for you. We drink on weekends but it's nothing execssive.

Conn College has an amazing community where you feel accepted. It is a small school but i think it is the perfect size for the size of the campus, they will need to fix housing if more student are admitted. It is in a great location, near the ocean and not too far from Boston or NYC however New London isn't much of a college town. If I am going to leave campus it is usually to go out to dinner in Mystic which is nice. I spent the majority of my time on campus. When I tell people that I go to Conn they react well if they know what Conn College is. Either that or that think I attend UConn. For not being an amazing sports school we have a lot of pride. One of the most frequent complaints is not enough places around campus for students to meet and hang out. Either that, or, that campus safety is going about their job at the wrong angle.

Overall, people at Conn are very friendly, as a small school there is certainly a sense of community. Set atop a hill overlooking the sound Conn College is the perfect setting for anyone who has ever dreamed of going to a beautiful small New England school. I have always felt safe at Conn. I find that the professors and administration are wonderful and always working to improve things for the student body. As a D3 school athletics are not a priority on everyone's list but most students participate in athletics on some level, and soccer games on the green in the fall always have great attendance. Students often complain that there is only one type of person at Conn, but I have found this to not be true at all, there are an array of extracurricular activities at Conn, and simply by signing up and getting involved one is sure to meet people with similar interests, regardless of what those interests are.

Connecticut College is a small school, yet I dont think that I would change this. The only times that I really got frustrated by how small the school was, was during senior year, but then I was done! President Higdon is doing a great job of revamping the school and getting involved. He knows me and my friends by name and knows a fair amount about us, he even has a picture of him with us in his office! He is one of the best things about the school right now. New London doesn't have the greatest reputation, and wasn't the nicest college town. However, the difference in New London between my freshman year (2004) and my senior year (2008) is HUGE. There are tons of great new restaurants along bank street, and a couple really fun bars that students will go too. There is a new Tiki bar that is great to go to once it gets warm out. One huge plus is having the beach right near by. Some of my favorite days at Conn were spent on the beach with a lot of the student body, and maybe a keg or two.

they are investing a boat load of money into facilities. more country-clubification if you ask me.

The Campus is the most beautiful in the world. Seriously. Shared governance here is also unbelievable. Floralia is the world's greatest party. The school is pretty small and its nice in that you know most students, faculty, and staff, but there is also a pretty big rumor mill and ConnCollConfessional is horrible. A lot of people think I go to UConn. The campus is trapped between two roads and its hard ot get off campus. The party in the basement of the library last month was awesome.

Conn is great because it is a small school where everyone knows each other. However, that means that it's harder to avoid someone you don't want to talk to. It's unfortunate that we can't afford any big-name music acts like other, larger schools do. It's a quick drive to the center of New London but a long walk. There's not a lot in the town offered for the students, but there's still plenty to do to have fun. We're not very admired by the town, and there have been some problems between the town and the campus community.

The thing I like the most about Conn is the Honor code and how students are given a lot of responsibilities and allowed to run their own lives. Administrators take a back seat and the Student Government is very prevalent on campus. I would change the location of the school, just because I wanted a college in a huge city, but New London is okay. It has restaurants and bars and other things to do. I like the size of the school, but I wanted a small school. Students do watch a lot of games on the green and there is a lot of activity during big school events, like camelympics and floralia.

conncoll is a small campus but that doesn't that it's not lively. since new london is a little farther than walking distance, we find plenty of stuff to do right on campus. there's never a weekend that there's nothing going on.

Conn is just the right size...even though there are only 2000 undergrads, the campus is open and spread out, so it never feels small. i still meet new people every weekend. We dont really have a college town, so its kinda tricky to get off campus unless you have a car, but it's not impossible. We have a van service that runs on weekends and next year we are getting Zipcars. President higdon is awsome! he has the students' best interests at heart and he's putting all his goals into action. i am so happy here!!

The school is beautiful, and you can find just about anything you want to do here. There are always events going on on-campus, both during the week and on the weekends. I don't feel that students take advantage of New London and the surrounding towns, though. Without a car, it is not exactly easy to get around. The Camel Van runs every weekend, but is not always reliable. However, my advice would be to get out and eat at some of the restaurants, go to the Garde Arts Center, or have coffee at one of the coffee shops. The campus itself is not that big so if you don't get off campus very often, you can feel trapped. The administration is wonderful, especially our president. I was amazed when he came up to me during orientation and started asking me about which desserts. Everyone knows who he is (there are even shirts that say "I Love Big Hig"). The administration, like all the professors, is very approachable and helpful.

Connecticut College is sometimes refered to as Camp Conn. Most of the students are happy to be here and enjoy the friends they have made here. There are many small classes which creates close interaction with faculty and other students. You have to want a small school and a campus to like being here, if you dont want that dont come. One thing i would change would be the male to female ratio. It is currently 38:62 and i think it would be better if it was closer to 50:50. People who know what Conn College is are impressed by the name however a lot of people confuse it with UConn. The social life is mostly just on campus. The beach is a popular location when the weather allows which isnt that often. A car is basically necessary to leave campus. The administation puts a lot of emphasis on student opinions. There is an increasing amount of school pride. I have a lot of fun and have gotten a lot smarter at Conn Coll and thats what I will remember. There are a lot of amazing people that I have met at Connecticut College.

Conn is the quintessential small liberal arts college. The campus is gorgeous (especially in the fall and spring), and everything is within a five- or ten-minute walk of everything else. The school sounds small on paper, with an enrollment of less that 2,000 students, but when you get here it feels just right. The location of the dorms separates the campus into three general areas - South Campus, Central Campus, and North Campus. You get to know most of the people in whichever part of campus you live in, making the school community feel more close-knit. As for everyone else, the general rule is that everyone is connected by two degrees or fewer. I know most of the people I pass walking to class, to the student center, or in the library. Whether we've had a class together, live in the same dorm, met at a party, or simply have a mutual friend, there's always a reason to say "Hey!" In the same vein, most people are eager to introduce you to friends they think you might get along with, and meeting people with your interests is relatively easy. Because Connecticut College is so small, another advantage that students have is the relative lack of red tape when it comes to the administration. I had a question to ask the Dean of Freshmen, so I went to her office and we had a conversation. Additionally, registering for a class that's over-enrolled can be as simple as talking to the professor in person and asking him or her to let you into the class. The administration is really interactive, and students play an enormous role in school policies. Just this year, the Student Government Association (SGA) convinced the administration to adopt several changes to school policy solely on the basis of student interest. If I could change anything about Conn, I would relocate it to within walking distance of a small town. If you have a car, you don't have to drive very far to reach civilization, but one of my biggest frustrations about the school is the "Conn Bubble" -- that is, it feels removed from the outside world. Downtown New London has a few stores and restaurants that are well worth going to, including a great Salvation Army; Waterford is right next door and has a mall, some big department stores, and a few chain restaurants; and Mystic and Mystic Seaport, which both have good shopping and restaurants, including the famous Mystic Pizza.

Conn is great! One thing I always notice is how many students wear "Conn" attire like sweatshirts and t-shirts that say Conn on them. We are very proud of being camels and like to show it. For me, the college is a great size too, under 2000 students but big enough that i do meet new people if not every day but every other day. When i tell people that i go to Connecticut College almost everyone thinks i got to Uconn which gets EXTREMELY annoying because Connecticut College is SUCH a better school than Uconn! But people who are well-educated know Conn. Something that is unusual about Conn college is that it offers free music lessons for credit! Due to an endowment, students can take any type of music lesson for no charge. I take lessons on both violin and viola with an awesome teacher! I spend most of my time on campus either in class, the library, my room or the student center. During swim season (I'm on the varsity swim team from November to February) i spent most of my time in the pool and the library.

Conn College is a decent size so that you will always be able to find somebody to hang out with, but you won't get lost in the crowd. Classes are not too challenging, but are still interesting. A lot of people like to hang out at Cro, the student center. The dances here are really fun and are something to do on the weekends. Sometimes it is hard to find things to do off campus or a way to get off campus.

I like that Conn is a small school because I can make closer relationships with friends and teachers. When I tell people I go to Conn College, they usually confuse it with UCONN. (It's not the same school!) There is a town in New London, but it's not within walking distance of the school. If you want to go into town, there is a taxi service on the weekdays and a free "Camel Van" service on the weekends. Our most recent controversy was a website called "conncollconfessional.com" where people spread rumors and make weird confessions. Our dean said it offended people but didn't force the website to shut down. We have an "Honor Code" that encourages people not to cheat or break other rules on campus. However, I think too many people take advantage of it.

The best thing about Conn College is the approachability of everybody. Teachers and other students are hardly ever too busy or too cool to talk to you for a few minutes. You could sit next to a complete stranger in the dining hall and talk to them for twenty minutes, learning about their interests. But if I could change one thing on campus, I would want more activities for students who do not drink.

The best thing about Conn Coll is the academic programs. The professors are dedicated, fair, and flexible. The classes are really interesting, but the course selection is small and some departments are smaller than others. -I wouldn't change just one thing, a lot of change is needed. There needs to be more diversity, more apartment style living, and more to do on campus on the weekend than just dances. -I think the schools is too small, but I came from a large high school. You feel like you know everyone on this campus by second semester of your freshman year, and due to this it becomes a very gossipy campus. - Most people don't know what Conn Coll is, but the ones who do are impressed with its academics. New London is not a college town, but our school needs to do a better job in becoming involved in the community. -There is not a lot of school pride even though a lot of students do sports. We do not have a football or baseball team, no frats/sororities.
