My sorority does a lot of work with St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital and when I got this invitation to do this, I was very excited because we truly want to do as much as we can to help the hospital out. Up 'Til Dawn is making it possible for me to help out St. Jude's Hospital outside of my sorority which is a very exciting opportunity that I would not pass up.

I'm doing this survey for the Cornell Up Til Dawn organization.

Rose

I'm doing this for Up 'Til Dawn, I'm glad you're doing a philanthropy thing but I wish it was for something other than a sorority, I hate the lip service they give towards philanthropy and community service.

The balance between academics and social life is one that many students have a hard time finding. Classes are so demanding, often one requiring a full days work as if it is the only class you are taking. This make socializing nearly impossible, which may be why many people get depressed or attempt to fill their schedule with other "social" responsibilities within groups or activities. It is deffinetly hard, maybe impossible, to have a good social life and good academic standing...at least for students in the scienes.

Cornell is not a normal school. If you think you're a normal kid, with normal aspirations, don't come here. Cornell will test you to the brink of your academic strength. It sucks a lot of the time, and anyone would agree with that. The winter at Cornell is at times unbearable. But the nice weather, beautiful campus, and knowledgeable and intriguing professors more than make up for it. If you think you're up for a challenge, come to Cornell. If not, don't even try.
