East Carolina University Top Questions

What's the most frustrating thing about East Carolina University?

Daniel

The most frustrating thing about ECU is how indecisive the weather chooses to be. One day it could be sunny and beautiful, and the next could be a full on rainstorm. So always have an umbrella no matter what!

Alicia

The most frustrating thing about my school is simply the long walk to and from my dorm to get to my classes. I live up on "College Hill" and so it usually takes me about 20 minutes to walk across campus to get to my classroom on time. I love exercise but after a long day of class and carrying my heavy bookbag, I'm exhausted! I can only hope that next year my dorm will be closer to the academic buildings!

Emily

The old reputation that boys gave the school back in the 1980s is frustrating. They are the people who gave the party reputation to the school, but when you go beyond that, you see many people who love this school. We are all tired of the freshmen who come, get drunk, brag about it, and tell others how much of a party school this is. We love our academics, the beautiful campus, our friends we make, the activities we get to do, and the overall feel of the college.

John

I don't like the fact that some buildings are closed when I need to use them such as the library on Sunday mornings.

Rachel

The most frustruating thing about ECU is the bus schedule. It seems like you have to wait forever for the bus to come. It is really bad around seven at night. I once waited an entire hour before the bus showed up to take me to my car. Always try to get to the bus stop early, so you will have time to get to your class and won't be late.

Dealing with the financial aid office is the most frustrating thing about East Carolina University.

Micaela

The most frustrating thing about my school is that, while we have nice library facilities, the hours seem a little too limited. For example, there is a library specific to my major, and it is only open for a few hours each day of the weekend. For most people in my major, the weekend is the best time to make use of the library, due to our busy schedules during the week, but we aren't able to.

Shana

The most frustrating thing is that there are so many people. This can be irritating when trying to get to class and there are a ton of people blocking the sidewalk.

Desiree

That more poeple are focus on their social life rather than their school work. I really don't like getting group projects because there is always that one person that doesn't want to do anything or doesn't do anything. I feel that we should just be graded on how people work by themselves because there is too much stress when there is a group project.

Shanna

I would have to say the most frusterating thing about my school would be all of the students who do not really want to do work or go to class; the students who mess around in class and argue with teachers and interupt my class-time where I could be learning.

Omar

The most frustrating thing about this school is the parking situation. Parking is very limited and the school is not allowed to build a parking deck because of the grounds it stands on. The situation makes it harder for students to park on campus, but they are able to solve this problem by having a strong and safe bus route that transports students back and forth to and off campus.

Gabrielle

That it is in the middle of nowhere and by your 4th year you have done everything that there is to do... However, if you have a good social group... you'll be just fine.

Lannette

The most frustrating thing about school is the time between ending class and final exams. There is not a big break to allow review of notes for cumulative exams.

Lauren

I do not find much to be frustrating about East Carolina. I love this school so much. If I had my way I would be here for the remaining three years of college. The only thing I find frustrating is my dorm. The dorm is very loud all the time. It is very hard to sleep, and very hard to get studying done. My dorm is also on the opposite end of campus from the library. Aside from the inconvinienceof my dorm, and its location I do not find anything to be a problem.

Meghan

The most frustrating thing is not having buses run more regularly, since funding has been cut back. Another problem is that many of the sidewalks are uneven, so they flood easily when it rains heavily in the area.

rebecca

very big dont know many people

FINANCIAL AID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Krystal

I think that the most frustrating thing about our school is that the majority of the people here focus on going out, drinking, and hooking up. People will go downtown every night of the week and get drunk, and go to class hung over, or not even go. This is really frustrating for me because I enjoy going to my classes, and furthering my education. I pay for my own school, and when I hear about people going out all the time with their financial aid money, it is very frustrating to see what they are using it for.

Gwendolyn

The most frustrating thing about my school is dealing with the FA office. When you call them sometimes the wait is long and when they get on the phone they are very rude to you asking about your very own money! Especially around refund time. They can be very hateful. Other than that, I love my school.

Christopher

Parking is difficult because there are so many more students than expected this year.
