I have no complaints about the school. I'm frustrated with what I did with my time there when my education was free. I was on a full scholarship and my last two years there were not great becuase I started missing classes regularly. Prior to that, I had a 3.5 gpa. It is 14 years later and I will be attending online to complete my degree.

I hate to ever decry a library, but I'm no fan of their student laptops. They are, by and large, damaged and outdated, both in terms of hardware and software. I can't speak for other students, but I don't think I'm alone in wishing they had the budget to improve the student laptop service.

Coming from a larger college town, Emporia is very small and there are limited things to do. The people are fantastic, but you will have to become pretty creative on the weekends, especially if you do not want to drink. Although there are always things going on on campus, there is little going on in town. Also the ratio of guys to girls is pretty uneven. There are six times as many girls here as there are guys.

The food on campus because there isn't much of a variety.

Nothing but just keep an eye on your advising.

What I would consider the worst thing about my school is that the cafeteria does not have very many healthy options. I say this because everyday we are served the same things, pizza, hamburgers, and sandwiches. The only healthy options that are constant are the salad bar and water.

The small town makes it difficult to find some things to do when you have spare time.

The worst thing about my school is the amount of hours I am allowed to work. The school jobs close at 5p.m. I would like to have an opportunity to work longer hours at school because I need money to pay my college tuition and I feel safe on campus. I enjoy working on campus rather than off campus and therefore I would like more hours. This would help because many students who work on campus have a second job because there is simply not enough hours to work, and money is need for college tuition, textbooks, and housing.

Beyond the obvious of being land locked in the Midwest without in ocean in view or cascading mountains on the horizon, I have been most disconcerted by the online courses at this institution. This semester was my first experience taking online courses, not by choice, and as it turned out a very poor experience. Distant classes proved to be disconnected, and even poorly coordinated, and in one instance, hostile. Course material was often recycled curriculum that professors failed to up-date while insisting students spend necessary time of a normal course, in my mind professors should heed this advice.

I think the schools focus on being green or eco-friendly is really too low. It has no effect on the students being here.
