To be the worst thing about my school is the location. FGCU is located in an upscale higher income community.

You have to walk all over God's creation to get from one class to another. Even if the class is designated within a cluster of buildings where your other classes are, the buildings are so far apart. Also the parking is terrible even with the new parking decks. You have to be there extremely early to get a parking spot. Lastly, the campus police are everywhere so you can't get away from getting a parking ticket if you don't park in the right desgiinated area.

It's kind of far from where I live, and it's gradually becoming more expensive. I am also not able to receive the student loan I applied for because my GPA is too low, even though it's from a private bank.

I can't say there are many bad things about my school. The only problems I get from the school is the lack of time I have to get as involved as I want to be due to be workload and my job. Other than that, I can think of no REAL problems at the moment.

The worst thing about FGCU is the location. Most students claim that there really is not much to do in the surrounding areas. When new students come to the school from a bigger city, they are bored and always want to know what they can do in the area. Ft. Myers has become more populated and has had more things built in the are in the past couple of years but it still is not a college town. Most students feel out of place and bored when they come to this school.

It is kind of boring, there is not too much to do around here.

The school spirit is not what it should be on campus. Eventhough majority of the students stay on campus and in the surrounding areas, it seems as if it is a commuter school at times.

The worst thing about the school is that it is not growing as fast enough to support the incoming students. We are one of the fastest growing schools in the country, but, the infastructure to support these students is lagging behind.

that they forget their current students and focus to much attention on incomming freshmen. we go to school here to and get kicked out of our dorms to make room for all the new students that they now need to find housing for.

The lack of efficient and strategic marketing of the programs the campus has to offer the students.

If you're a commuter, it's tough to find parking.

Although many common places such as the supermarket and bank are in a close proximity to Florida Gulf Coast University, the night life is lacking. There is not much for students to do for entertainment outside of school. Also, the city is primary a retirement city, so there are not too many young people to meet, other than school affairs.

I think the worst thing about my school is not having more overhangs for the sidewalks because it rains so much in Florida.

People

FGCU is a good school, but it is still pretty new. When it was first built, they didn't expect it to grow as much as it has, so the parking and housing are both limited. There is also a lack of majors. But they are adding alot of new stuff and it will be much better in a couple of years.

When help is needed from the administration, they give you the run around. I tried to get help to set up a semester abroad and was never assisted. More importantly, when I asked for help in choosing a major from my advisor, she gave me the run around. In both situations, I went to numerous faculty asking for help and never received any.

There really isn't anything bad about this school.
