FSU is an amazing school that provides opportunities to excel in almost any major you can imagine, and along with the great academic opporunities, the whole experience of being a Seminole is one that I am truly proud to be a part of. Go Noles!

To many who has never seen my school, Florida State may remind people a bit of Hogwarts from Harry Potter! There is a lot of brick and the main campus is centered in a kind of community which may be different to other colleges. When I first saw my school I was admiring the bricks buildings and Landis Green, a large green field in between strozier library and the honors dorm: Landis. Many students lay and sun bath, study, hang out, eat, play Frisbee and other sports, or are just passing through to get to class or the dining hall!

Our campus is relatively compact for one with such a large student body; it doesn't take me more than 15 minutes to get from one side of campus to the other, and it's about four miles along the perimeter. All of the buildings are brick, which gives it a nice crisp feel in the fall, and the classrooms are equipped with all of the latest technology for teaching.

Our campus looks like the college campuses in the movies. All brick buildings and elbow patched blazer clad professors with briefcases, frat boys wearing various pastel colored polos and Sperrys, various local vendors and student organizations with tables set up in the union on market wednesdays....

My school looks pretty clean until you get close to Tennessee Street, then it gets a little dirty and skeezy. But stay around Landis Green or the Humanities side of campus and it looks pretty spiffy.

Florida State University has a beautiful and diverse campus. Many of the buildings are beautiful constructed out of red brick, and the newly renovated William Johnson Building has gorgeous lecture halls that have been restored to what they would have looked like when the building was first constructed in the 1800s. The school isn't over developed - there are lots of greens and foilage on campus. The science section of the campus boasts state of the art buildings, while the liberal arts part is contains many of the older, brick buildings.

FSU has a very unique landscape that gives it a nice quality that provides a professional ambiance and a piece of eye candy. All buildings are made of solid red brick, a very rustic feel that is very appealing to the eye. The concrete paths snake through enormous trees that provide shade from the hot sun and home to lots of squirrels that like to run around. The campus itself isn't that large. It only takes about 15 minutes to walk from one end to to other (but this is without distractions). The student union is locating directly in the middle of campus, providing an easily foundation of student interactions before, during, and after class hours. Two dining halls are separated at the East and West sides of campus, surrounded by the the dormitories. The main library overlooks a vast green lawn, called the Landis Green, which is truly the heart of campus where people are always out enjoying the nice Florida weather. FSU has a very beautiful campus that sits in the middle of downtown Tallahassee, easily accessible to the mall or the movies for hanging on the weekends.

The campus is surrounded by trees, and has a very old-fashioned feel to it. The brick roads are a nice touch to the campus as well. I personally feel like the campus can be divided into two parts. There is the old side, and the newer side. The old side is where the music department, the art department and the english department are. The new(er) side of campus is mainly the psychology area, which is brand new. On this side there is also the Fresh Foods dining hall, which looks a lot newer and cleaner than the Suwannee dining hall.

Chelsea

My school has a very traditional campus. Practically all of the buildings have that Savannah, GA. red-brick and spanish moss look to them. The campus really prides itself on its bricks, fountains, and statues. You look around and can tell this place has history.
