The best thing about FSU is the diversity. One thing I would change is how funding is allocated to RSOs (Registered Student Organizations). AND the fact that Tallahassee is sooooo country! The school is large, which is fine by me! When people hear that I attend FSU, they are either one of two things: supportive or JEALOUS!!! I spend most of my time in the library (checking my facebook) or in the Union (with my organizations). "WHAT COLLEGE TOWN"- being from a big city, its hard to find enough events and activities to go to in Tally. No celebs come here and concerts are once in a blue moon! There aren't any amazing sightseeing areas and the parks are terrifying. AND, check this out....there are 2 malls in Tally....that's right, its tragic....only TWO!!!!!! Which means EVERYONE has to shop at these TWO malls. I, personally, dont shop in Tally because there is a 100{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} chance that someone WILL have your outfit on! Anyway, im done ranting...FSU administration does there best to keep FSU on top. Its not easy to keep it up, especially wih the budget issues lately, but they are doing what they feel is best. Biggest recent controversy.....not sure. Probably the fact that almost half of the football team was involved in a cheating scandal last season....scandalous! LOTS of school pride...even though we keep losing....The unusual thing about FSU is that they are willing to cut back on library and computer time to build more buildings and for 'beautification projects'. Plant some grass and give us our computer labs back! Experience to remember was coming to orientation and wanting to go home IMMEDIATELY because I felt like a minority...most frequent complaints is PARKING!!!! ITS TRAGIC!!!

The Best thing about FSU is how "homey" it feels. It seems like there is a disease that once you go to FSU and live in the area, you can never leave! (or at least while in college) People are friendly here and everyone hangs out with everyone. There is a pride that you get when walking on campus because there is so much history. The school pride definitely lowered when our football team wasn't doing too good, but we still stood up for the team and have pride that we are the Seminoles. The most recent controversy on campus was Our football coaching staff and people quitting...aka: getting fired.I spend most of my time at the Psychology building or the library. when I tell people that I go to FSU I get great remarks. People get proud, envious and happy. I do not know much about FSU's administration, but obviously they are doing good things. what I would change is our roads- they are so crappy and everytime you drive anywhere you are getting jerked around. It also makes the campus look "dirty", so I think clean up and construction is needed to make our campus look nicer. Parking lots need to be paved because people get stuck in the rocks sometimes! Also- because campus is so old, everything is so tight and random. There will be random poles and weird stuff everywhere. But this all adds to the feel of going to FSU so its cool! of course, more parking is needed, but they have done great at building garages. I always remember my freshman year and all the randomness with it. One of the best years of my life.

The best thing about FSU is the football games. Every game day, home or away, you gather with a bunch of people (some you know, some you don't) and you end up watching the game as a group. It truly is an UNFORGETTABLE experience. The one thing I would change would be more REAL professors teaching classes and less grad students. FSU is the perfect size; at first it seems huge but after a week you will know it like the back of your hand. Tallahassee is a great college town! There are two major colleges and lots of smaller colleges in the area so there is something for everyone. FSU has a reservation that a lot of students go to where you can tan, play volleyball, kayak, canoe, or swim in the lake all for free. There are malls, movies, clubs, bars, parties.. anything you can imagine is here. The FSU administration could be better. My personal opinion is if you aren't 100{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} sure what you want to do go in as exploratory major that way you don't get screwed over. The advisors only answer what you ask them and don't go into more detail that will be useful down the line but be firm and they will eventually help you. There is so much pride at FSU. If you are a fan of our rivals you will get taunted while in Tallahassee but it is all in fun. People take the "Seminole Pride" to the extreme with body paint and costumes. One experience that I will ALWAYS remember is my entire freshman year. It is extremely scary but very eventful. Live in a dorm if at all possible; it is worth it. Dorm life is part of the college experience and a life changing event. The first football game will give you a since of awe. Watching a game on tv will never be the same after that. The first party is also eventful. You will see similarities between the college parties in movies but yet realize it it totally different. The most common complaint of students is parking and towing. Tallahassee is very tow happy so DON'T BRING A CAR!! Especially if you are living on campus.

The best thing about FSU- hmmm I'm not sure I could pick just one! The campus is beautiful, the weather is perfect, there's nothing better than a BBQ and a tailgate on a Saturday afternoon with 80,000 of your closest friends. We are a family, and we treat each other that way, students and alumni alike. Parking SUCKS! I would definitely fix that if I could! I think FSU is the perfect size, it's big enough that you can immerse yourself in so many different things, but it's small enough that you always know someone who knows someone... People always react positively when I tell them I go to FSU, I have pride in my school, and I think that it radiates through me when I speak about it. I spend most of my time on campus either in class,or at one of the athletic events. I love sports, but am very dedicated to my degree. Total college town. Tallahassee thrives off of Florida State, and the community loves the FSU students, which makes it a GREAT place to be! I love our president, TK Wetherall. He went to FSU, played sports here, he gets it. He knows what it is like to be one of us, and he always takes that into consideration. Everyone has school pride. We love our school. There is nowhere better! The one unusual thing that no one else has is a direct tie to their mascot. We are the Seminoles, and the Seminole tribe of Florida support us wholeheartedly. They love that we represent their people in a positive light, they even went to bat for us when the NCAA threatened to take that away from us. They are our heritage, I AM a Seminole, WE are FLORIDA STATE! The experience I will always remember would be my very first football game as an undergraduate... walking from my house to the stadium, meeting friends and family at a tailgate, being invited to random other people's tailgates along the way, because that's how we do it here at FSU, when the Marching Chiefs come into the stadium playing, and the football team runs out onto the field, I had chills. It was a gorgeous fall day, sunny, breezy, I was there with 80,000 friends who I had never met before, but we all had one thing in common: FLORIDA STATE!!!

- The best thing about FSU is FOOTBALL! - I would get rid of all the foreign teachers. - I personally love the size of FSU. It seems big at first, but you just have to find where you fit in. - Most are pretty enthusiastic. FSU is very well respect all over the country. - I am an Engineering major so I don't get to be on main campus. :( - Tallahassee is definently a COLLEGE TOWN! When the students leave the place is dead! - I work for both FSU and FAMU and FSU is by far the better university! I enjoy working with the administration. They have always been more than helpful with anything I needed. - The changes in Bright Futures has been a large controversy on campus. However, and couple different suicide attemps trouble me. - There is a ton of school pride. If you are a NOLE, you are damn proud of it. Most would say they bleed Garnet and Gold! Also, your hatred for the Gators will eventually emerge!!! - There is a stained glass portrait of Bobby Bowden in the stadium. This is the largest stained glass portrait of anyone other that Jesus! Bobby is only second to God! - I will always remember standing in the student section in the beating sun doing the seminole chop to the warchant. The thought of the band playing and everyone chopping together still gives me the chills! - Everyone hates the hills. The people from Miami complain it is too cold! Parking SUCKS!!!! Foreign teachers are no fun.

I LOVE FSU! The people are friendly and the school spirit is amazing, which is what drew me to FSU in the first place. If I could change something, it would just be to add more parking for both students and teachers. I think that the campus is just right. I love how the actual campus is compact, so we don't have to walk too far to get from one side to another. The population of students however is perfect. Not too many people that you can't get a feel for the school, and not too little students to be butting into your personal life. The only reaction that people give me when I tell them I go to FSU is teasing about the football losses and recently, the cheating scandal. I live off campus so the place I spend the most time at are my classes in the Rovetta building. FSU is definitely a college town. Every marketing and business is revolved around student satisfaction. I think that having FSU, FAMU, TCC and Keiser all in this one city helps make Tallahassee a college town. When I think of Tallahassee, I think of college town before I think of capital city. The football cheating scandal is a pretty big deal. We pride ourselves in academic honor and something like this, makes us look bad. We are huge on football, and I feel let down by our players. My most favorite thing about FSU is our pride. I know I have pride because of all the wonderful things that FSU has to offer. I will always make FSU my number one school no matter what because of the values it has instilled in me. I also feel like my peers and teachers have pride too. It means a lot when teachers tell students that they love this school. Pride is something that we can't break down. I do find something not necessarily unusually, but I've always questioned why there are those concrete snake/dragon looking things that block off roads around Westcott. It's not really the experience, but the people who have made my experience at FSU, I cannot forget.

The best thing about FSU is the campus size, you attend a major university for the state of florida, but it is a small campus, that gives the small school vibe. People simply say oh, too bad about your football team or athletics when I tell them where I attend school. There is a lot of school pride, but it revolves mostly around football, which is what I would like to change.

Nelly

Nice campus. I don't understand why there is always so much construction. It's just right. They are proud because it is a well known university. Dorms. Definitely a college town. I don't know them personally. Elections. Yes, at school events. Not really. Football season. Bad living arrangements on campus.

Our athletics programs are awesome. From intramural sports to club sports to v arsity athletics...we have it all! One thing i'd change right now is all of the budget cutting going on around the university, it seems likely to affect scholarships and grants for those who can't afford to take as many courses as they'd like to. Also, not all graduate students get usage of the Leach center facilities. Grad students are as much of a part of FSU as the undergrads... help us out! I spend most of my time off campus because i like 2 miles away, i can ride my bike if i choose to. I love tallahassee, it's a great place. I grew up only 30 miles away in a small town thinking that Tallahasssee was "the big city." :) There is a ton of school pride... we seem very focused on that. And groups like the Lady Spirithunters are regular moral boosters around campus, as well as are the Seminole Student Boosters. I can't remember any really big campus controversies, just athletes cheating, that seemed to be the biggest one lately.

One of the best things about FSU is the pride and tradition. Recently with the Seminole True Pride Campaign, Seminole from all over have been united. Student at FSU are proud to wear garnet and gold. I think the size of FSU is perfect. It is large enough to get a full college experience and get the perks for going to a large school, but it has a small college feel. Tallahassee is definitely a college town. With FSU, FAMU, and TCC, all in the same general area, there are college students everywhere. There is always something to do. Something I will always remember is being thrown in the Wescott Fountain on my 18th Birthday. It is a tradition to throw people in the fountain on special occasions, and it is always a lot of fun. Students usually complain about parking. There never is enough and there isn't really much anybody can do about it.
