F&M really suits a variety of students. I think anyone who is prepared to work extremely hard and to push themselves could do really well at this school. Students are really self-motivated and can be very competitive. That being said, the campus has a tremendous sense of community. It is really important for the student to be able to focus themselves because professors expect a lot from their students.

The typical Franklin and Marshall student would be a person who thrives in a challenging academic environment and can handle pressure. She must have a real interest in developing her intellect that creates a desire to complete more than the minimum requirement. This student should have a willingness to hear new ideas. He must desire to connect with his fellow students and the faculty through activities beyond the classroom. The Franklin and Marshall student is driven and passionate; she cannot wait to test her skills in a career.

The type of person who should attend this school is the type that is motivated, hard working and serious about their future. The person does not have to be the very smartest person, but he or she should be bright and willing to learn more. It is the type of school where you are expected to go above and beyond and challenge yourself. A student at this school must be willing to take risks and work as hard as possible to achieve his or her goals.
