There are a lot of rich kids and there are a lot of jewish kids. Not everyone is rich or jewish but many are. If you look closely and keep and open mind you can learn to love this place. There are so many different types of people here, it just takes a little while to find them.

There is no school spirit and the majority of the people don't care
Jacquelyn
Wealthy financial backgrounds from the North East.

I think their is a wide range of different people that go to GW. And everyone and anyone will find people who are like them and could relate to them.

Socioeconomically, most students are upper-middle class and very well-off. There is a large gay community on campus and a diverse religious one as well. Although many students are politically minded and active, its not necessarily my "thing" and I don't feel uncomfortable at all.

there are many groups of people here ranging from socioeconomic classes to races to religions. i don't think any student would feel out of place at GW as long as they are with people are open and willing to experience new things. there will always be those people at schools and universities that are too close-minded to understand that people in different groups as them are just as interesting and important. luckily, i feel that the student body at GW is composed mainly of students are are open-minded and willing to try new things. although there are several different socioeconomic classes here at GW, the higher classes are more prevalent, or at least appear so. this is simply due to the high tuition rates and do not determine the characteristics of the GW student body.

GW is SUPER accepting of EVERYONE. Seeing boys, girls, dogs, walking down the street holding hands does not get a second glance. I thought I was accepting of everyone before I cam here, but now I'm best friends with people who are gay, super religious, super not religious, etc, and we all hang out. The one thing about students here is that everyone is super involved. If you don't have an internship and three clubs you are president of, you might feel out of place. Everyone does SOMETHING, and it isn't all necessarily politically related.
Lauren
The student body is not nearly diverse enough for me, but somehow we have a palpable lack of community, which is upsetting. There is a lack of financial and socioeconomic diversity which is the most troubling. I do enjoy the prevalence of politically and internationally minded people, but I can imagine that if those topics were not important to me I would find that element of GW entirely overwhelming and irritating.

Students dress up all the time. They are almost all very politically active. Different types of students definitely interact.
Lindsay
GW is super liberal and is accepting of all people. This school is EXTREMELY Jewish however. It does not cater to the Jewish community in any way there are just a lot of Jews.
