Not at all.

For the most part no, for those who participate they occupy alot of time, but for those who don't it is not a huge influence on daily life. Except for the occasional raffle or jacket seen, we don't really notice

Jessica

Sometimes, but people are often judged alot on what cars they have, which can show how much money there parents have but not necessarily that their money is the only reason they are here

Anna

No, not from my experiences here at Hofstra.

Ryan

Most of these stereotypes are very accurate.

Ash

For some it is true, but for those that want to have more substance in their lives, Hofstra can be as academic as they want it to be, just like any other college.

Obviously there are a lot of Long Island students, otherwise there wouldn't be that stereotype. But the truth is that the student body is very diverse, and from various parts of the country. You associate with whomever you want, and create the atmosphere for yourself that you find the most agreeable. And if truth be told, not all Long Islanders conform to the stereotype "loud, obnoxious, rich and spoiled."
