I would advise every student to critically consider all aspects of the college in question. Community was a big factor in my decision to pick my school. Depending on what you are going to school for, whether that be solely education, a social life, or a little bit of both, research those areas as well. Decide what you want first, small or large school, close to home or distant, etc. and then select the college that fits your needs. Once you get to school, jump in with everything you have. If there's an activity that sounds interesting, do it. If there's an ice cream social for freshmen, use it to your advantage and get to know your fellow students. While social life is a large part of living on campus, education will be more beneficial in the long run. Studying is of the utmost importance, and avoid procrastination at all costs. Make your college years the best years of your life!

In order to find the right college you need to know exactly what you want and not settle for anything less. If you are worried about being able to afford the college you want, apply for every scholarship possible and pray. If you pray about finding the right fit, God will help you.

Visit as many colleges in person as you can. It is a lot easier to decide on a college when you have experienced it. Also, that money isn't everything. If your son/daughter really wants to attend a specific college, there is always a way for them to get there.
