The students at my school are wonderful. The student population of racial, religious, LGBT, socio-economic and other backgrounds are diverse. I can't imagine someone not feeling welcome during their time at Kaplan University. We never see each other during our live seminars or in the classroom. We interact with each other on discussion boards, where we show respect, even when a difference of opinion exist. During seminars we listen to the Professor and view the whiteboard presentation along with our typed comments in real time. This really takes a lot of the politics and pressure out of the classroom environment. We have honor societies and clubs just like you'd find at a brick and mortar institution. As for what to wear to class, that is up to you...

All of the students are so diverse. Everyone has different experiences and lives in different places. Students don't have interactions like a traditional campus with dorms and dining halls. However, this allows students to live their lives, work and raise families while gaining a degree.

I love going to school with the students that I do. Having all of my classes online gives me the opportunity to get to know people from all over. You get perspectives on different races, religions, etc. I have had students from every state and multiple countries. They differ in every aspect. I go to school with people who are 18 and up. In my last class there was a 57 year old. You can definitely get diversity here. Nobody ever feels out of place.

I have had great success in academics. The Professors call you by your name when you are communicating with them through your seminars, DBs, and e-mails. My favorite class so far would have to be Interpersonal Communications. This class is explaining mnay ways of communication and how aand what we should consider when communicating with people. My least favorite class was Math. I am not very good with numbers. I don't know about other students but I study at least three times a week. You do have opportunities to have study groups. Class participation is very common. The most unique class I have taken is Honors, Social Perspectives of Death and Dying. My major is Early Childhood Development. The school's academic requirements are fair and accessible. Kaplan University wants your learning to coincide with you getting a job in your area of study. They also have job listings which they e-mail to you in your area.

I would say that Kaplan is such a huge melting pot when it comes to the student body. We have people of all ages, lifestyles, economic backgrounds and experiences that attend classes here. We have parents, high school graduates, miliraty personnel, former and current police officers. It really is a very diverse school.

A lot of students strive to do well in academics in order to be invited into an academic group.

The best thing about attending on online school is that you come in contact with individuals from all enthic backgrounds and from all over the world! I've been in class with other students that are just graduating high school to indivdiduals who are in their fifties and starting over in life.
Furthermore, I've been able to develope deeper relationships with some of my classmates and after class stayed in contact via social media.

They are simply the best.

My school accept students from different background, race, color socioeconomic status. As long as a student come to learn and abide by the rules of excellence, all will be great.

The students at my school are all different ages, different races, different social backgrounds and have varying religious beliefs. I do not believe that anyone would feel out of place at this school. My first class after thirty years away from school was scary but everyone put me at ease and made me feel welcome. In our online environment I could not say what people wear to class it could be from uniforms from work, pajammas, shorts or a mix in between. The lady I have become good friends with in Vegas is black and I am white but too me color does not matter it is the person within that matters. We at Kaplan try to make everyone feel comfortable and at home here . We have a lot of service men and women who are going while still serving their country which I give them my deepest thanks and gratidue. The four tables in the dinning room are filled with students of all ages and nationalities. At the first table we have a 19 year old bllack girl a thirty year old white business owner , a black male service member. At the second table we have a 24 year old father from the virgin Islands, and a fifty five year old asian business executive. The third table is filled with four women enjoy a break together. We have a 55 year old disabled black woman, a fifty two year old disable white woman who used to drive a truck, we have a 24 year old from greece, and a 19 year old from Brooklyn. . At the fourth table we have two 24 year old African Americans and a twenty year old Mexican american. The financial backgrounds are as varied as the ages and nationalities are. In one class I have a African American woman who has her masters in accounting and owns her own business and is backing taking certificate training. We have a 65 year old business man, I am disabled but beofre becoming disabled I worked in the restraunt industry for fifteen years then for a change of pace drove a truck across country for ten years. We have housewives, waitress, fast food workers many different occupations and finnacial stability. The only time I have ever heard of students talking about how much money they could make or want to make is when wee had to do it for an assignment. Next week in my management class we have to look at different fields their qualifications and salary.I would say that most of us at Kaplan are focused on learning as much as we can.

I attend Kaplan as an online student as do my fellow students and I have found that most of us have responsibilities outside of school, such as full time jobs and families, that prevent us from attending a traditional college. We do have some chance of getting to know one another as we have to post on weekly discussion boards, attend online seminars in chat rooms, or work on team projects throughout the week. Most of us are pretty focus on getting our work done and we all treat each other with a great deal of respect.

I do not know how the student environment is on an actual campus. I know that I can attend my classes in my birthday suit or in my pajamas!

Starting answering! Here at Kaplan we are all here trying to better ourselves I truly feel we do not look at race religion or even sexual preference. I think the majority of us are seeking how to keep our grades up. One of the great things about online courses is an individual can wear what they want. The students interact well with another for it is required in our discussion posts. Furthermore the students can be from any walk of life.

The students that I have worked with have been great. I have attended many different classes with the same students. This allows you to get to know the people that you are attended classes with. It also makes it great when you have to do a project since you may already have a rapport built with some of the students.
