I do not believe there is a stereotype that can be defined at Kaplan
Linda
I think the biggest stereotype of Kaplan or any othe ronline school is that it is is easier. Let me tell you this is not accurate at all. Online learning gives you more flexibility but it is not easier.
Dee
Absolutely not. I think online students have to work harder because the majority of us are older adults who are returning to school later in life. Most students are juggling being parents, work schedules and getting assignments in on time.
Samantha
As far as I am aware of, yes. Most studenst who atten the online programs have a goal they want to achieve while managing other aspects in their lives. They are determined and focused.

the stereotype of students I see at my school, are those that are highly intelligent, the geeks who are very knowledgeable, and just the regulars.

There is no stereotyping at Kaplan!! That is one thing I love about this school!!
Linsey
No it is not at all accurate. Kaplan University students are very hard worker.
Alicia
The stereotype of students at Kaplan University's online campus is that they are lazy. Why are they lazy? They are lazy because they go to college online. This is completely inaccurate. Yes, every school has their lazy students, but this school wouldn't be in business today if its students were lazy. You cannot be too lazy in a "do it at your own pace" setting, you would fall flat on your face. The students at KU work extremely hard to maintain a healthy balance of whatever life they may have and their studies.
Angela
Most people think that online schools are a joke,or that the people attending them are lazy and looking for an easy way out. They are mistaken, for one the degree you earn is accredited and the amount of homework you are given is the same from any traditional college.
Kayla
I really haven't heard much about a stereotype of KU studetns.
Linsey
I would have to say no The .stereotype of students could not be more false.

The stereotype that Kaplan students are not smart enough for other colleges is far beyond incorrect! Kaplan University students are first time student's, mother's, father's, retiree's, business owner's, previous college graduates, and so much more! Kaplan has a widely diverse student body from around the world. Most students attend Kaplan to fit into their busy schedules, since Kaplan can really fit any lifestyle and busy shcedule, allowing anyone the opportunity to obtain their dreams of a college education.

When I was on the phone with a Kaplan University representitive, I asked her what the stereotype was like and she said I would meet so many different kinds of people. She was right. There is not one type of stereotype. I have met people from all over the country and of all different viewpoints and religious beliefs. I have had a great experience with all my classmates I met online.
Brandon
Probably. Since the majority of Kaplan students are female. Also since the school boasts online education the "lazy" factor also plays a part versus the image of traditional "brick & mortar" students.
