Kent State University is most known for the Kent State Massacre that occurred on May 4, 1970. This is when students were protesting the Vietnam War by rallying on campus. The rallies got out of hand when the National Guard began opening fire on students in the crowd. Four students were killed while nine others were wounded, and one of them was paralyzed. A nationwide reaction occurred in response to this because hundreds of universities, colleges, and high schools closed because of student strikes that took place throughout the country. This raised awareness for protest against the Vietnam War.

I am not really into sports, but I think my school is best known for Football, especially the rivalry that our team has with The University of Akron football team.

My school is widely known for their fashion program. We are currently ranked second in the nation for fashion majors. People from all over the country attend Kent State University for their fashion program.

Kent State University is most notable for the disburtion of black squirrels around Ohio from an experiment roughly fifty years ago on campus. As a result, hundreds of black squirrels can be found everywhere on Kent's campus as well as surrounding areas. Kent State takes great pride in these animals- they have even devoted an entire festival to the black squirrels called the "Black Squirrel Festival." This university has even dedicated radio shows and hundreds of books to these rare sqiurrels.

Kent State is best known for the majors of education, nursing, fashion, and architecture. However, any major that is selected at Kent State will provide excellent education on that particular subject. The professors are well educated and able to teach their particular subject well. Students learn the information necessary to do well in their career when graduation approaches. On a noneducational note, Kent State is known for their famous black squirells and how they interact with students on their walks to class.
