North Carolina A & T State University Top Questions

Begin saving money for college, scholarships and financial aid may or may not cover everything. College tours are also important. Check the university background, A&T is a historically black university. If you are the only child you may need to practice sharing.

My advice would be to tour various colleges during the academic school year, in order to get a true assement of the students and professors. I visited this University 3 times before applying and each time my parents and I felt the same way; warm and loving. I spoke to Alumni and attended their meetings a few times to get an idea of how they really felt and their participation with the University. Review the University website weekly to see the day to day operations and read their newsletter for update information throught out the community and campus. I attended intersted meetings on campus to see what activies fit me and I became involved and I am loving my college life!

In finding the right college you need to look at what factors in a school are most important to you. For me it was costs, academics and the campus environment. My school met all my needs in these areas and that's why I chose to go there. When my freshman year ended I felt like I made right choice in a school. I was challenged academically throughout the year and I felt like learned a lot of useful things. I didn't need to get a student loan to go to school so I wasn't in debt, which was really great because that allowed me to have some extra money to spend over the summer. Also, I had the most fun of my life my freshman year because there was always something to do on campus. I am now a sophomore and I am very excited about he upcoming year. This time around I am going to savor every moment that I am in school becasue there are so many things to experience. These are the years of your life when you make decisions that shape who you are a a person so enjoy it while it lasts.
