I was always exempt from test in high school because my grades were always above average. In college there is no exemption and I missed the opportunity to learn how to study and apply myself for test. I find now as a college student that it is often difficult for me to test because I never knew. If I could go back to high school I would take all final exams even if I could be excused from them because those test taking skills will help you along the way in college.

I know you may be a little nervous about going to college, being there by yourself without your parents around, but I honestly can tell you I know you will be just fine. You know you have you cousin there who is always there for you to talk to and his friends are very friendly and will treat you like a little sister. But you are really independent as well, you know how to cook, you know how to figure a way to get around and you are pretty good with your money. Just know that not everyone out here is your friend, and not every guy want a relationship. Do not only be book smart, but try and be street smart too, there are guys and girls in college who bring nothing but trouble, keep your friends to a minimal. Lastly, remember your priorities and that you are paying for this education so make sure you keep your grades up and keep them there.

After coming to college I've come to realize that anything is possible. With all the classes offered throughout every college in the world, anyone can do anything as long as they put their mind to it and their heart in it. The real world become reality and hits a college student, especially me, harder than expected, but there is no doubt that it will be worth it in the end: the stress, sweat, and tears. College has been the start of my future, and it's shaping me into the person God intended me to be.

I am learning many new and interesting things about the healthcare industry. At first I was overwhelmed and felt intimidated, I wondered if I had what it takes to complete this course. As I studied hard, applied my knowlege to tests and recieved good grades I felt more comfortable, gradually I began to feel better about all of it. I look forward everyday to class!
The education I am recieving is going to be invaluable to me in my future life. It will be the first time in nearly 4 decades of hard work that I will have an actual career, one that I can be proud of and one that will help other people as well.
In these challenging times I think it's more important than ever before to not only be well educated but to have a wide variety of educational skills. We can loose a lot in way of worldly goods but no one can ever take away our knowlege, it's my most valuable possession and one I will continue to persue in the years to come.

I have gotten alot out of my college experience so far. Being away from my mother and the rest of my family has showed me how much I care about them. Also being at college has been a great motivation for me because I now know how to manage my time very well. In high school I was the type of person that procrastinated on doing my homework and things of that nature. I have become more aware of how to get things done for myself. College is teaching me valuble life lessons for when I will be in the real world on my own.

Furthering my education is very important and it is a decision that I stand by strongly. To have the opportunity to further my education is more than a privilege but it is a blessing that I thank God for daily. I have learned a great deal from my college experience. As I enter these college years, I have come to realize that I am indeed entering the real world. There is no one to hold my hand or force me to attend class and do homework. The motivation comes from within. I have grasped not just intellectual knowledge from my college experience but I have learned other aspects to equip me in life. I have learned how to manage my time wisely, being that I work full time and attend school full time, the importance of attendance and grades, and staying on top of my work and studies. College is an investment that I plan to reap the benefits from through my hard work and steadfastness. My plan is to continue to work hard and my goal is to only get better. This scholarship would help me tremendously. Thank you for the opportunity.

I have gotten many things out of my college expierence. First and foremost I have learned to balance work and school and have been able to maintatin a 3.53 GPA. I have learned time management. Learning how to make the most of my time was difficult at first but has been very beneficial. I know how to handle my home life with school work and my three part times jobs. I have gained a lot of expierence to help me in my career as a nurse. I have also gained many friends. When you are in a specific career program you start to see the same people, and it makes it nice to have friends in the same program that can always give you encouragment or help with any questions you may have.
