If I could go back to talk to myself as a high school senior I would share the gospel with myself. That way I could go and spread it among my peers at high school.

If I had to give advice to myself as a senior, I would tell myself to stay full time as a college student and to take classes so I would graduate with my associate degree in Arts in two years at Nash Community College and then transfer into a 4 year university. I would also tell myself to work harder and to never give up no matter how hard the work load is, it will pay off in the end.

I would tell myself to take some more time getting involved with campus activites. Dont rush into anything but do open yourself into meeting new people and making friends. Apply for work study jobs the first week of move in day. One big thing I would really say thats important is to find and go through every possible way to pay for college and also filling out my FAFSA with my guidance counselor so I make sure I fill out everything correctly.

The advice that I would give myself would of been to apply for scholarships while i was in high school to have money for financial aid for college

Assuming that I could go back in time and talk to myself as a High School senior I would make my mind think positive even if I saw no door open for me in this country. I would tell myself to believe that dreams come true. The reason I say this is because in High School I didn't have my permit or green card which is something essential in this country. I could not apply for help because everything required a Social Security. So I apply to a community college where I could afford the payments because I wanted my parents to be proud of me and achieve what they couldn't and would have if they have had the opportunity that I have now. About a year ago I received my green card which opened every door that I thought it was close for me. So I would tell myself believe that you could achieve your deepest desires and work your road to success.

If I could go back in time and give my high school senior self some advice, I would tell myself to not let tough professors intimidate me. When signing up for classes, all the college juniors and seniors would tell us to avoid certain professors because they were too tough. I decided to just choose for myself and I saw that I actually learned a lot better in the tougher classes. The professors were not trying to be mean or rude, they were just trying to challenge us, and now I wish that all of my classes had been tougher. If I could go back in time I would tell myself that it's okay to go to a community college. My first year I went to a private school. I received an academic scholarship from them but it wasn't enough to cover the costs,now I can't return to school because I can't afford it,and neither can my parents. I could have gone to community college to take my basic courses and not burden my parents with college debt.

As a high school senior I would advise myself of many things to make college life so much easier. The most important thing is STAY IN SCHOOL. As many times as I have heard this I still made the mistake of "taking some time off" and it was the biggest mistake of my life. Although I heard it repeatedly to stay in school nobody everyone explained to me why. I want to take the time to explain to myself why now, because it's extremely hard to get back in. Not only do you have to continue explaining why you took time off, the other thing I am having trouble adjusting to is how everything has changed. I only took a little over a year off and now everything is so different. Also, the trouble of picking back up your study habits aren't fun either. Nahanna, just stay in school.

Go to school while you are young. No one wants to hire an old lady with a lot of recently acquired education.

I think the transition from high school to college can be shocking for some students. I was one of those students. A reality check came to me within the first week of moving into the campus dorms. Coming from a small Christian high school, I was not accustomed to such a diverse group of people. Though my room mate and I were much alike, there were so many other students that lived next to us from different areas of the country and different cultures. It took me by surprise. However, in time I learned to enjoy such diversity. If I could go back as a high school senior and give myself advice, I would tell myself to relax. I worried too much about college; and once I moved on campus, I was too introverted. I would tell myself that college is just a step beyond high school and making new friends does not have to be an intimidating task.

Persevarance is what I gained and this helped me to never give up my dream to persue my education.

I have gotten a great deal of knowlegde and independence out of my college experience. I taught my self how to focus on details and to study regularly. Simply tone out all the distractions around me and listen with alertness. Thats why when I enter a classroom I sit in the front or close to the front, I take notes, and give the teacher my undivided attention. I wish I known how to do this back then when I was in junior high, because what I've learned is that my education is very important and serious, thats what I'm constantly telling my children, repeatedly. It has been valuable for me to attend NCWC simply because I am committed to overcoming one of my many goals. I know that after graduation I will have that higher notch of education under my belt so that I can successfully find a better career and make the type of money I've been longing for. Also if my girls see that I am serious about my education and wanting to better myself than they too will following in my footsteps. Attending college has made me a valuable role model.

The feel of freedom, and because I learned how independant I actually am.

I started college right out of high school. I was not very focused to start off with my college career. I went back to school as an adult and I have to say that it was a great experience. When I went back to school I was 26 and much older thatn most of my fellow classmates. I had been working and was a single mom. I had more life experience than most of the other students. I was one of the top 10 graduating students in my class. Going back to school allowed me to pursue a career that has allowed me to take care of my son and help others as well. College opened up the doors for considerable growth in my life. I am currently seeking my master's degree to become a LPC.

I would advise to get involve with the community and voluntary at events. I would advise to study, study ,study hard for all your classes it will help alot. it will help your gpa and help in the long run in college because you got a good study habit and with a good gpa you will be able to get in a good college. And also apply for the most scholarships as you can because if you is like me money is not easy to come by. Tuition is very high and you need to build scholarships and grants. Try your best to not apply for school loans. Do your best in everything you do and dont give up because ther is hope and there are progams to help you.

I would say I would have told myself to work harder in the class room to be better prepared for college, and make better grades. Cause in high school i did not do my work to my full potential, therfore my grades showed it. Cause it is so hard to try and get any kind of good scholarship to help out with college, when you didn't have good GPA in high school. I would have also told myself that i would have tried to be more envovled with the school, such as clubs. Well i can't change my past, but what i can say is that i have learned from my mistakes. I am in college now doing the best i can to get good grades, so I can have a good degree when I graduate.

When I was a high school senior, my main goal was to select a college that would provide me with the best financial aid package. I thought that colleges and universities nation wide would give me the same education. I was wrong. I received acceptance letters from top universities such as the University of Washington, Gonzaga University, and Whitworth College. However, North Carolina Wesleyan College offered me a scholarship that would pay 100{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of the tuition. I accepted the offer. Looking back now, I wish I selected a school based on the opportunities it gives to students. Money should not be the primary focus when choosing a school. Even though my tuition was covered, I still ended up paying for room, board, books, and fees. There are many ways to help pay for an education so that you can attend a college or university that matches your personality. I only wish that I was not concerned about paying for college. The thing that sets you apart is not how much money you saved, but the experience.

I would tell myself to be more focused on the major i want to pursue in and be more time managable. I would also tell myself to excell and make the highest grades possible.

Study in high school and work harder cuz it will pay off once you get into college. Bring your grades up because you can get more financial aid by having better grades and it also looks better on a resume.

I would tell myself to prepair for anything you think might happen, because more than likely it will. Also I would tell myself to save my money because college is very expensive and Mom & Dad will not be able to help you out as much a you will need it.

The biggest piece of advice that I can offer to parents and students about finding the right college is that it is not brain surgery, it is as hard as you make it. I feel strongly that people know deep down where they woukd like to go, however those feelings are confirmed or denied when you go and spend time on that college campus. I would encourage parents to work hard to get the child to the campus for one or many visits. It is not good for students to see the campus for the firct time when they go there to move in. I would say to the student that finding the right college also means not going to far out of your comfort zone. I am not saying not to grow and conquer new and exciting things, but I am saying that the students wants to be comfortable. I did not go to my top choice Penn State, because it was too big for me and I know that I perform academically better in smaller settings. It is important to get involved on campus and to start and pioneer new clubs if the school doesn't offer it.
