The most frustrating thing about NAU is that it was started as a Normal School, a school for teachers, and is still so well known for that, but has a president who does not desire to focus his attention or to allocate funds to this part of the school. Instead, he spit for summer school maybe, or deal with it if you need the wonderful heart of NAU.

Materialistic people

I think people that shouldn't attend this school are those that go to college ONLY for the learning. I believe college is a place where you learn life lessons and find out about yourself, amidst the learning environment, which a city of Flagstaff beautifully provides. Not to say the education is bad here by any strech of the imagination, but rather that it has so much to offer away from the classroom, some may find themselves enraptured in distracting ways. If you're willing to balance social and scholastic lives, NAU is perfect. If not, I wouldn't attend.

I can't think of a type of person who would feel uncomfortable here - even though a majority of students are younger, there are a lot of returning students, too. The online program works well for many working adults.
