Oakland University Top Questions

The drive would have to be the worst thing right now. Im one credit away from registering for classes a few days earlier. Im hoping to get more online classes to save on gas and miles.

I feel as though the financial aid office staff could be much more sensitive to the often frustrating topic of financing a hefty university tuition bill. Whether it be speaking with more compassion, or having a generally friendly tone, I believe that these small gestures could help faciliate a more pleasant financial aid experience.

Sometimes, the class sizes are too big and you really need to choose your instructors carefully in order to succeed in the class. Also, the textbooks that are required for classes by the professor are very costly, especially if you have to buy them at the school bookstore.

The worst thing about Oakland University is the math department. Our math department is apparently under investigation due to the 80{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} failure rate amongst students enrolled in math courses.

Unfortunately, I believe the worst thing about my school is the Financial Aid Services because they do not make their tuition payment criterion very clear which leads to stress and confusion for both students and parents.

The worst thing about my school are the tuition rates. Although they're considerably lower than many other four-year institutions, I still find them alarmingly high. In particular, I dislike how relatively few scholarships are available to the student populace. I would be less concerned about the price of tuition if I knew that I didn't have to worry about having a large amount of debt after I graduated. As it is, however, due to this dearth of scholarships available to me, I have to take out loans. This vastly increases my anxiety about my schooling.

I would have to say that the worst thing about my school would have to be the seemingly restricted access to students in regards to registration and maintaining good standing for classes. There are so many guidelines for students to follow and students must diligently seek information from many resources in order to obtain an understanding of these guidelines.

The worst thing about Oakland University is the lack of diversity between the students. Most people go to college with the hope that they will meet new and interesting people; unfortunately, Oakland does not provide much of an opportunity for this. I think my college experience would be much more fulfilling and enriching if my classes were filled with dedicated, diverse individuals.

There are so many events held on campus that are not advertised at all.

The worst thing about Oakland University is the workload. I feel that in the program I'm in especially, there are high expectations for students and the amount of homework may be a bit too much to ask of them.

I chose Oakland University because it was an affordable college. It wasn't much more to go there than it was the local community college. However, they have hiked their tuition, and it has become less affordable. That is the worst thing, closely followed by the lack of enough parking.

The worst thing that I consider at my school are the classes that I am taking right now. The reason why is because I thought that I would be able to seek out help whenever I needed it. I thought that I would have a better understanding of the material. Other things that I consider bad at this school are some of the professors. The reason why is because some of the professor are like they don't care whether you come to class or whether uyou understand because they already know the information.

Lack of financial aid awards given, not enough parking and tuition is raised too much too often.

The worst thing about the school is the lack of parking for commuter students and the rate at which the classes fill up.

Our advising counclers are horrilbe, and there isn't enough housing on campus.

I think the worst thing about my school is that it's mostly commuter based and because of that for those of us who live on campus there really isn't much to do on the residence halls part of campus come friday, saturday and sunday. This school is very very commuter based.

The worst thing about Oakland University is the 2 year wait list to get into the nursing program. This situation is common at many other schools though.

I consider the worst thing about my school to be the parking space. In the winter time, it is very hard to get in and out of campus easily because there are so many people and the weather in Michigan is pretty bad. Alot of students have an issue with the parking spaces and take about 30 to 40 minuntes to find a good place to park. If they do find a good spot, it usually really far from thier classes.

One of the worst things about the school is that many of the lower level classes are lecture style with hundreds of students. Unfortunately, this way the teachers cannot help you the best they can, and if you have questions in class, sometimes it's hard to get them answered.
