What's the most frustrating thing about Ohio State University-Main Campus?

Mariel

The most frustrating thing about Ohio State is the size. Walking from your room to class to class and then back to your room you just get a little tired of walking everywhere. But at the end of the year you will be glad because all of the walking helped cut down on the freshman fifteen!

Janee

Sometimes the sheer number of people can be frustrating. For instance, around finals week it isn't unheard of to spend an hour searching for a seat in the library. Also, I don't know if Im really this uncoordinated or not, but I've had a lot of trouble not running into people on sidewalks this year.

Chris

The most frustrating thing about school is trying to attend school and work at the same time. Although Ohio State is considerably inexpensive, it is still a task trying to pay for college without taking out a loan.

Sophia

Many of the intro level classes are huge and impersonal and it can be hard to get through a 100 level course in a subject not related to your interests when there are 500 kids in your class and the prof can't possibly take the time you need to help you personally. TAs are nice, but those classes can suck pretty bad.

De'Shawnna

Getting around campus can be easy at times but during rush hours or school passing periods.

Ahmed

It has a lot of classrooms and a big campus.

Timothy

The most fustrating thing at the school is the attitude that most kids have coming in. People know the school is big. With 52,000 students, students know they will meet hundreds, maybe even thousands of kids. Because of this, I've noticed it is a lot harder to build strong relationships with kids because most of the time, you just "one friend" out of hundreds.

Emily

The most frustrating thing would probably be that not every class you take has an actual professor that you can talk to . Most of the classes I have taken so far have been taught by T.A.'s and they are not always very helpful if you do not understand something.

Sierra

The most frustrating thing would have to be the size; but that's why there are maps.

Joseph

I have not had anything frustrating yet.

Kristin

The most frustrating thing about attending The Ohio State University is the financial aid process. Even if you are doing well in school, and have a grade point average of 3.0 or above, if you take too many classes, you could have your financial aid put on hold. This process is incredibly frustrating, and although the persons working in the financial aid office are fantastic - the entire process leaves a less than stellar impression.

Chelsea

The most frustrating thing about Ohio State is the difficulty of the science courses which makes it hard to maintain a high GPA.

Manique

The most fustrating thing about Ohio State is probably the driving and parking, because there are about 50,0000 students enrolled in the university there is very limited parking! Also because everyone is so high-spirited about almost every varsity sports/athletics, traffic could become pretty hectic!

Molly

The most frustrating thing about Ohio State is never knowing everything that is going on. There are a million things to do on campus on any given day, but it is sometimes difficult to know what is going on.

Jonathan

The travel around the campus is very strenuos. The campus is very large and makes it very hard to get from one side of the campus to the othefr in a timely manor. Also the parking is terrible. There is not enough parking close to the classes in which you plan to take. Student fees the are required to be paid such as The Ohio Union Fee and the Cota Bus Fee, even if the student does not use or intend to ever be used. Lastly the use of books that are only supplied by OSU.

Theresa

Trying to get ahold of someone when you need a question answered regarding health insurance, financial situations, etc. You usually are in an automated system for a while and have long wait times. It is also frustrating that the health insurance really only covers you if you go to a place on campus, but I am in graduate school and don't live on campus any longer so it is very inconvienent for me.

Olivia

Large campus size can sometimes make it difficult to find buildings and navigate between classes.

Kyle

Honestly, the only thing that frustrates me about Ohio State is having to walk to class during the winter. The campus is pretty large in terms of size so it can be a long cold walk to class on some mornings.

Cameron

The most frustrating thing about Ohio State University is the sense of exceptionalism that many students feel towards other schools. Although OSU is a very good public university, it is not at the same level of some of the schools in its conference (Northwestern, Michigan) and it certainly doesn't compare (academically, in research, or in reputation) with the Ivy League. Many students that go to Ohio State only applied here and seem to be completely satisfied with the relative mediocrity they habitate on a daily basis. The prominence of sports programs at OSU also exacerbate this sense of superiority.

Camaya

The most frustrating thing about The Ohio State University is the cost of tuition, room and bord, and books.
