So large! So many people. There are so many people here, you would expect diversity, but most students are caucasian from Pittsburgh or Philadelphia and all look and act the same.

Although the campus is generally lively on the weekend, it seems as though housing shuts down a lot of the food options. It's not easy to find food on campus on the weekends, and practically nothing it open before 11 AM where I live.

Nichole

Lack of scholarships and grants for students who aren't minority or extremely poor.

Alicia

Paying for everything outside of tuition

Kelly

The school is surrounded by nothingness, and beause of this nothing is available -- if you need medication in the middle of the night, you'll have to wait because there are no pharmacies open after midnight close to campus. If you need to buy a coat, you'll have to take a 15 minute bus ride off campus -- and even then, all you're getting is a Wal-Mart. The most frustrating thing is that it is just campus, plopped down in the middle of fields and fields of grass. It's rather difficult to easily access anyting.

Joseph

The most frustrating thing about Penn State University- main campus the fact that thier is just too many students on campus. It seems like everytime I get out of class, there are 500 students in bunches that also make me late for certain classes. I thought I would be use to it now being a sophomore, but that thought was so incorrect.

Kristy

I think that the most fruastrating thing about my school can be the size. There are almost 40,000 students who attend Penn State University, which raises the level of dedication you must have for the classes which you attend. Though the competition due to the high number of students can be frustrating, it also in beneficial due to the fact that it pushes you harder to succeed.

Lana

The most frustrating thing about Penn State is that many students feel like their grades and courses don't matter as much because it's such a big school. You need to work hard to make sure that your professors and your academic advisors know YOU and know your name. I've been successful because I'm pretty vocal about what I need in terms of academic counseling, but I know I would be feeling pretty lost if I didn't speak up when I need help scheduling courses, etc.
