Pepperdine University Top Questions

I chose to go to Pepperdine because I wanted to be surrounded by people who are more motivated to use their degrees to give back to communities rather than wanting that piece of paper just to make mondo incomes. Although Pepperdine students are usually used to living cushy lives, they generally do pursue giving back through their endeavors. I was also interested in studying different religions, as I'm interested in them from a historical, psychological, sociological perspective. So far, I've come to find that other religions taught at Pepperdine are taught from a slightly-frustratingly Christian perspective as opposed to being a neutral one. The range of religions which are covered in depth are not as varied as I would have liked them to be either. You win one, you lose one.

A big factor was the study abroad program. I had always wanted to do a semester abroad, and Pepperdine gave me the opportunity to spend a full year in Germany, which was totally awesome. I also really liked the location. Malibu is pretty much one of the best places to live.

I chose Pepperdine for several reasons. First, the campus is absolutely beautiful, and the weather isn't too bad either. I also liked how Pepperdine has a decent amount of majors and minors to choose from, so just in case I decided that I didn't like my choice of major anymore, I would still have a large selection of other majors to choose from. I also knew that I wanted to study abroad at some point during my college career, and Pepperdine is very big on having their students go abroad. Most students study abroad their sophomore year, for either a semester or the whole year. Pepperdine has programs in England, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, China, and Argentina You also have the option to do summer programs or summer internships in those countries and sometimes other places as well such as Africa, Fiji, Russia, etc. The nice thing is that Pepperdine owns it's own building/house in those six countries and you study abroad with people from Pepperdine, not random people from all across America.
