Students who plan on spending large amounts of time and energy on pushing the student body for an improvement in school spirit and an increase in enthusism for our athletic teams should not attend this school. While most students at Rice aren't hostile to sports here, many are apathetic. Students who would disregaurd the honor code to get higher grades also shouldn't go here, because not only will such students most likely get caught, but also they aren't welcome here; Students at Rice actually care about the honor code.

Rice accepts a diverse range of people from all over the world, but it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to be here. A person who is not willing to keep up a strong work ethic and maintain discipline should not attend Rice; also, someone who is not willing to keep an open mind regarding new ideas or cultures would not be recommended to attend Rice.
Matthew
People who are afraid of doing a lot of school work shouldn't come here since the courses can be very demanding. Also, people who are not accepting of those who are different from themselves shouldn't come here since the student body is very diverse.
Alicia

Rice University is not for those who do not have a strong idea about what they want to do with their future. The school does start students early in their desired major. The school however is flexible in changing majors at any point in the student's college career. The school is welcoming and comfortable but is not all fun and games. The intense focus on selected major is to ensure that students that attend Rice complete their major in the shortest amount of time without jampacking their schedules later in their schooling.

The kind of person that should not attend Rice is the person who is attending college for some reason other than their education. Everyone at Rice takes their academic interests seriously, and if you find getting intensely involved in your classwork something you would never do, then Rice is not the place for you.
