Describe the students at Roanoke College.

Sean

My classmates are very different at Roanoke College. While ethnically Roanoke may not be the most diverse, acadamically it is a different story. You get a wide range of indivuals who clearly barely got into the school, to those who don't give any effort and just make it by, to those who can really do well for themselves

Caitlyn

A bit hard to approach outside of the classroom setting. Many of them go to class and take notes but it's hard to have a class discussion when the class remains silent. They come from money and decent educational backgrounds, but sometimes they can't connect the dots very well, so to speak.

Emily

Some may seem that they are more entitled than others but overall most of my classmates are friendly and supportive.

ryan

My classmates are my group of peers that I will become very close with in the next four years while I am at school.

Heather

My classmates are the funniest, most genuine, artisitic, craziest, blow your mind in a double rainbow kind of way people I know and I wouldn't trade the experience of meeting them for anything in the world.

Katrina

My classmates are humorous, hard-working, entertaining, intelligent, and are always there when you need them for any reason.

Jennifer

they are all helpful and understanding.

Courtney

They are the best friends i could ever have met, and everyone fits in with everyone.

While Roanoke has a reputation for having a "cookie-cutter" student body, this is certainly not the case. Minorities of all types interact well with the student body. There is a place for everyone on Roanoke's campus and I don't believe anyone would feel out of place if they took the time to get involved. About half of the student population are native Virginians, with a majority of the rest hailing from the Mid-Atlantic and New England areas. This diversity allows for a very politically-balanced campus as many students come from both red and blue states. Generous financial aid packages accommodate students of all financial backgrounds.

Just to be blunt... we are pretty white but I've got some black friends around school. A lot of students are very well-to-do but not terribly flashy about it. We are a Lutheran affilliated school but its not enforced at all. Roanoke is about {4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c}50 Virginian. Most of the others are from New England (Connecticut, Boston, Vermont mainly.) We are not overly political but it is a somewhat conservative school.
