Alot of students think that Temple is a backup school just in case if they dont make it to their first choice of College. I believe this "was" true but now Temple has gone through many changes both how it looks externally, "more than 500 million dollar upgrade" and internally, "education". More students are picking Temple as their first choice because they know that it is a great University. Examples are, Temple just opened the new building for Fox School of Business, considered the most advanced builidng for a business school in the world. The Tyler school of art is also one of the best in the world. The medical building is opening up soon.

The best thing about TU is its location in philly, your set in the 'real philly', not beautiful Centery City or the crusty nice neighborhoods like Northern Liberities, but in north philly an underprivileged area that is just beginning to be redeveloped. the school has great internship opportunities with the city government and a whole bunch of non-profits.

My only complaint was the lack of support to form and build both a totally student run radio station as well as a student run television station. This of course may come as a bias since I was a Broadcasting student, but Temple is highly recognized for their School of Communications and Theater.
Also Temple nearly shot itself in the foot with some teachers in that school threating to fire them because of a lack of degree in the field. They did not have such a degree because when they were working and winning awards in the fields of Film, Theater, and Broadcasting, there were no programs offered to attain a degree. My best example would be legendary producer Phil Niccolo. The man has won countless grammy's for his work and sits on the voting board for them now. While there I heard that Temple was considering letting him go from the staff due to no degree in the field. The did wise up and gave him an honorary degree after students and teachers voiced their outrage.
The Communications is so big that Temple needs to start having their eye on it. We are the future filmakers, broadcasting, and voices of American media. If every one of us are Temple alums then that will bring an even higher recognition to the school.

I like how there are so many different cultures that clash every second of every day. Size wise, it is just right. i spend most of my time at J & H probably. i dont know that many other details.

I really like how there is always something going on at TU...whether it's Fall Fest/Spring Fling, Free Food and Fun Fridays, or a guest speaker. I think it's the perfect size... there are plenty of new people to meet, but it's still easy to keep in touch with/see friends from past semesters. I have taken a few people to campus for a mini-tour or to sit in on a class and each of them have really liked it. Despite the area being kinda bad, I like where TU is located. There isn't the huge sense of urgency like in Center City...but there is still that big-city feel. My favorite spot on campus is the bell tower... i love to sit out on the grass when it's nice out.

For being such a big school, Temple has a lot of cliques. You tend to see the same people every day.

Temple is a great school. The location is very key as to what there is to do in the city, since most things are only a subway ride and/or short walk away. The administration is very good, and they handle problems well. There was an incident of anti-Semitism on campus recently, and the administration wasted no time in handling it and reassuring students that it wouldn't happen again. Personally, I spend a lot of time either on the track or running off-campus. But, when I'm around, I hang out on the main walk, or in my fraternity house. The thing that most people remember is Spring Fling, because it is always just one giant party that everyone on campus attends and hangs out together.

Temple is amazing. i love the fact that it has thousands of students. Social life is amazing. The biggest downfall is admistration. They get nothing done at all and when they do make desicions they are retarded. They also need to eliminate this dry campus bullshit all it does is create more trouble then is needed. They need to do more to help greek life instead of trying to stop it.

Great campus life-perfect size. Very diverse, many different cultures integrated in one school. Great education for an affordable price.

I absolutely loved my 4 years at Temple. In fact, I wish I went for 5! Overall, I had a wonderful experience, made best friends, and learned a lot (both in and out of the classroom).
A fantastic thing about Temple is that it is located in Philadelphia. Going to school in a major city gave me so many opportunities that my friends at rural/suburban colleges didn't have. For example: the social scene (bars/restaurants), professional sporting events, and great internship opportunities.
On campus, my friends and I hung out a lot on Liacouras walk in between classes. for school purposes, i spent a lot of time in Tuttlemen and the Tech center (After it was built during my senior year).
I loved going to a very large school. I went to a fairly large high school (about 2500 kids) and I knew I wanted to go to a school much larger than that. Even though Temple has a ton of students, I honestly felt like it was a smaller community, and was constantly surprised to find out that some of my friends knew other friends of mine, etc.
Some great memories I have from Temple are: attending basketball games, Spring Fling, house parties, bars that accept Diamond Dollars, working at Rec Services, and just making fantastic friends.
