I wish I had known how easy it is to make friends. When I came to Texas State, I was nervous to meet new people, but now that I have met so many new people, I realize that the best way to make friends is to be yourself.
Frances
That they required a minimum number of advanced courses taken at their university before graduation and that housing was limited.
Sarah
I would have wanted to know that your professors want you to go up and ask them questions or let them know what is going on in your life that might effect your time at school.
Javier
You don't really get any scholarships - reserved for a elite few.
Alyssa
I wish I knew how many flights of stairs there were.
erika
I wish that I had been a little familiar with the area. Even though there are stores in walking distance, I wish that I would have known that the level of need for a car isn't that great.
Cristina
That there was going to be alot of walking and hills. And the time given between classes is not much for some walking distances. Also the buses are very packed in the morning and you have to get up extra early to catch the bus and get a seat.
rian
More information regarding degree requirements.
Tori
Before I came to Texas State University I wish I had known more about the student organizations available.
Christopher
I wish i would have known better the location of all the on campus dorms and their orientations with all the major buildings/classrooms.
Teresa
what the dorms were like
Justine
I wish I would have known that there were few classes to choose from when building your schedule. I also wish I would have known that it is very important to research how your professor grades because it really makes a difference.
Kristina
I wish I had known more about services offered, certain locations on campus, job offers on and off campus, and organizations offered.
Taylor
That you had to live on campus for two years
Billy
I have nothing I wish I had known about Texas State before I started attending. There were no unpleasent suprises. The only thing I wish I had known is that my parents were not going to be paying for my education. My parents were in the process of a divorce and they could not pay for my education. I was able to take out an emergency loan my freshman year just before payment was due. The faculty at the Financial aid office helped guide me through the loan process so I could stay in school.
Crystal
How easy it is to ask professors and fellow classmates questions if you need help, and not having to worry about feeling incompetent or embarrassed.
Salvador
That I was going to meet such great friends! I was in college a year previous to moving here in South Tx and met good people there but here there are so many diverse people that come from different walks of life. I love it!
Jenny
I wish I had realized how much money it really costs to go to school. Even going to a state school was very taxing on my income!
James
Nothing... I love this school and everything was very accessible and easy to learn my first few weeks
Justin
I wish I had known the layout of the town better and the best places to live off-campus. Also knowing people here would have been a good thing also but that is what being adventurous is all about.
