There isn't anybody who "shouldn't" attend this school. The University of Texas at Austin is so large and diverse that any prospective student is bound to find another individual who will share many of the same interests or opinions that he holds. If you are not able to find other people who you feel comfortable with, there are many advisors and counselors who are available to help you adjust to the university.

Someone who is not outgoing and overwhelmed by large groups of diverse people. They cannot expect for friends to come to them. They must go out and make them on their own. Also, if someone is looking for small classes and one-on-one, specialized attention from professors, this school is not the place to go...at least until they are upperclassmen.

Leslie

A person who is unable to adapt and adjust to the rigorous academic atmosphere should not attend UT Austin. Also, someone who is too dependent and irresponsible would not function well at this school. One must be able to make their own decisions.

A person who likes a quiet and small atmosphere.

Sam

A person who does not like to explore, and be opened up to new types of people, thinking, and culture. This enviornment is progressive and fast paced so, the unfoccused person can get caught up in a multitude of other things that are not beneficial to there classroom studies. UT Austin is an experience unlike any other I can conceive, you have to be smart in so many aspects both socially and in the classroom, this school really prepares you for the world. If you want a sheltered atmosphere this may not be it.
