Relaxed and academically focused with lots of opportunities for off-campus work and recreation, but not so much sense of community. You have to find your own friends but every group is represented.

The University of Alaska Anchorage caters to the working student; in the early childhood program for example, classes are offered in the evening and occasionally on Saturdays in order to accomodate those who wish to pursue higher education but have to work as well.

University of Alaska Anchorage is and reminds me of a smaller community within a larger community called Anchorage, where many diverse individuals, including the staff, care, respect, and meet each other's needs.

It is a fairly friendly commuter college with a wide variety of people with very varied goals.

UAA is a community minded university catering to the diverse cultures of Anchorage with beautiful views of The Last Frontier.

My school is flexible.

Medium-sized university, friendly and career focused but not overly academically challenging. Extremely low crime, completely safe campus. Students are friendly and welcoming as are the professors. Academic advising needs dramatic improvment though.

It has just added a Nutrition and Dietetics major!
