The people in Alaska are very hospitable and welcoming to others. Hockey is big at UAA. Outdoor winter activities are also very popular, such as cross country skiing.

My school is best known for the quality of education it delivers to prospective students. Its nursing, engineering and science programs are renowned. In fact it is also know for one of the best ice hockey teams ever in the United States of America. Thjroughout the years it has produced graduates that are working in several worldwide renowned companies in diversified fields.

UAA is best known for sponsoring the Great Alaska Shootout which brings up college basketball teams from all over the United States for a tournament over Thanksgiving annually.

Being the main university in Anchorage. Theres also Alaska Pacific University, but they're basically a sister school. UAA and UAF are the universities that come to mind when you say "I'm staying here for college."

The mere fact that it stands in the beautiful and mysterious state of Alaska seems to be the thing that most people find memorable about it. UAA is the largest University in the State of Alaska and it looked at as an up-and-coming school that is expanding rapidly as each academic year passes.

We have a pretty good Culinary Arts program so I'm told.
