A lot of people hate it, I have come to love it, the school has a lot to offer, its a great university with a great reputation, and I'm not talking about the "socially dead" reputation, and trust me itsn not socially dead, you just have to know where to party. :)

UCSD is an academically prestigious institution, providing students with many research opportunities in the scientific field, while providing a great sense of community within this moderately large campus with its 6 college system.

It has a very friendly social scene, and is helpful to students going into certain majors such as engineering, psychology, sciences, etc..., however very unaccomodating to any majors pertaining to art.
