You need to find a college where you are comfortable. The class size, activities, kind of people that are there, and literaly everything else is a major factor in a great college experience. If you liked highschool, then pick a college that is similar to it. Big schools = big state schools.

Don't just choose a school that gives you the most financial aid. Choose somewhere that is gonna be beneficial to you to complete your education proces and that helps you acheive your future goals in life. Don't let the size of a campus fool or scare you. Small campuses have just as much to offer as large campuses. Smaller campuses have more one-on-one time with professors and faculty because they have les students to tend to.

Chosing a college is a very, if not the most important decision to make in young adulthood. I would advise parents and students to be extremely careful of what college is chosen to attend. Dont listen to friends or family members, find out about the campus and what it has to offer you! Remember college is not free, therefore make sure you are absolutely comfortable with the college you select prior to attending.

Choose something that is in your price range, try not to focus so much on the "stuff" that you think will make your college experience more traditional. Football teams and national recognition are nice, but there really dont matter in the real world. Think more about what kind of classes you want to be in as far as size, and content. Find a school that has a good academic counseling team. Make sure they have a real interest in seeing you graduate on time, and with good grades. Find a team who knows the teachers and knows which ones to pick for you so that the teachers will best fit your personality and learning style. If your not a big group project person, make sure the couselor knows their teachers enough not to put you in a class where the teacher requires 10 group projects a semester.

Todaywithout a degree it is hard tofind a well payed and long term career. There is strong encouragementand emphasis on attending college in High School. Thisgeneration has a great amount of pressure in determing what they want to do with the rest of their life at the tender age of 17 or 18. This is due to parents' fear of a life full of struggle and debt, much like they had to experience but wish that their child or grandchild not to go through. There is now more than ever a fear of not finding a job even after college, so picking the right degree regardless if it is desired or if it will provide a job is very difficult and stressful. There is also the cost of the actual institution attended. Auniversity obviously will be better able to meet the needs of degree seeking students butis also more expensive and sometimes lacks the finacial funding or have such stipulations to receiving aid. My adviceto students would be not to fall under pressure. Allow yourself the proper time to determine what it is you want to do and if that means some years at a community college that is ok.
