My favorite campus tradition is attending the football and basketball games and singing the Maryland fight song and other fun cheers.

My school is best known for their engineering, bussiness and journalism schools. These three schools are some of the top in the nation. Being an engineer, I know that the engineering school has many new and exciting equipment that students use. But besides the educational side, University of Maryland is also known for our die hard fans. Every sport event is crowed with fellow terrapins that make it hard for the visiting team to make a strive to win. The University of Maryland is becoming one of the hardest public schools to get accepted to.

It's a big school with lots of clubs/organizations and lots of classes to choose from. It's also a research university, so there will be professors who are doing research on the side. The university is extremely close to Washington D.C.- a bus ride within campus can take you straight to the metro. The classes are pretty tough, at least for the science departments (or maybe that's a universal thing). My advice for new students: I guarentee you will find your niche in this incredibly diverse campus IF you make the effort to look around.

My school is best known for it's Engineering program as well as its Computer Science Program. In addition, our sports department manages to grab the headlines of newspapers from time to time.

Maryland is most widely known for its sports teams and the school's support and spirit for their teams. Its reputation as a huge state school is accurate; there are over 20,000 undergraduates. Its easy to get lost in the crowd. It is also known for its beautiful campus, although it is sometimes thought of as unsafe.

The University of Maryland is well known for it's athletics. Though I've always been more of an academic, I enjoy going to the football and basketball games. There is so much school spirit and support for our athletes. At the same time, UMD is also known for its academic standards. It was not easy getting in; it's very competitive. I think people know that when someone graduates from UMD, they have a good , solid education and will do well in their selected career.

Maryland is best known as being one of the best research schools in the nation. Maryland is very proud of the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center and the Terps football team.

My school is best known for being a "melting pot." In other words, the University of Maryland College Park is a great school to go to because we are very well-rounded. We aren't just considered a study school or an all sports school. Rather, we have excellent athletics, great research facilities, academics, performing arts groups, diversity, and much more. With so many diverse backgrounds and talents, as a whole, our school is definitely very unique. Instead of being known for one specific trait, the University of Maryland College Park is known for its versitility.

The University of Maryland-College Park is best known for its high quality courses, facility and faculty. Throughout my time at UM, I always felt that I was receiving the best that they had to offer as far as top quality education. The campus was a pleasure to stroll through and spend time just looking at it. The facilities offered students a wide variety of activities and eating establishments. Most of the courses measured up to my expectations.

My school is known for its incredible business school. It is one of the top business schools in the nation that is very competitive to get into. It also has a well known engineering program which is known to be difficult and challenging for students to attend in.

My school is one of the top state schools in the nation. I truly feel that I am getting a superb education, and the options available to me, in nearly all fields of study, are amazing. I also love the aesthetics of the school-- the campus is gorgeous, which anyone who visits will tell you. It is also very close to Washington DC, which is an excellent resource for learning (in and out of the classroom) and just for life experiences.
