University of Maryland-University College Top Questions

I can't say that I've had any bad experiences with classmates. There've been a few that will challenge you in discussions or don't work at the same pace you might, but that's to be expected with any school setting.

I don't know much about my classmates due to the fact that i've only taken 3 classes thus far (because that's all financial aid would a lot me), and because all of my classes are online since I live in Arizona and the school is based out of Maryland. But from what I've seen online, my classmates seem to be very willing to help each other out. We've debated some in my ethics class, but not to the point of fighting. Everyone's very respectful of one another!

Very diverse culturally, economically, and socially.

I am currently enrolled in online classes at UMUC and the atmosphere is very friendly, helpful, and encouraging. My classmates are diverse and I enjoy interacting with different cultures, and persons of a wide range of professions.

The classmates that attend this school are mostly people who did not go to college straight out of high school and are coming back for their degrees. Also, this school is dedicated to helping the United States military personnel in getting their degrees by providing them with easy access to their classes and great flexibility. The classmates are well behaved and more mature because of it. This is not a school where people go to party and live the "college life" you see in movies so it does not have those type of people attending.

Its been a long time since I actually attended a class with other classmates. Over the past 10 years the classes I've taken have been online so its really difficult to get a sense of what my classmates were like.

I take my classes on-line, but when we as students have our discussion question on-line, they are very informative and helpful. If there is something that I don't understand, I ask my classmates and they are always willing to help me out with any questions I have.

My classmates come from a multitude of backgrounds and locations, as all of us are attending classes online.

I am finishing my classes on-line, therrefore; I don't get to meet my classmates, but when I was living on campus, my classmates where dedicated students with a determined, motivated force behind their studies; In social settings, they were as classy and friendly as could be.; at sporting events, they were among the most spirited and supportive of the traditions associated with the school.

I'm taking my courses "at a distance" so I don't have any perspective on the rest of my classmates.
