University of Miami Top Questions

Compared to other schools I considered, I'd say Miami hasa more diverse student body. The students here are also very well balanced. We know how to balance school work, extracurriculars, hanging out, and partying. We also have a great surrounding area. We have the beach close by and then the excitement of south beach and the greater miami area on the other side.

The mixture of academic excellence with fun. The university is filled with career focused, hard working individuals, but that doesn't stop any of them from going out and enjoying the beach, clubs, and other fun attractions Miami has to offer. Everyone is kind and accepting which creates an environment that is perfect for academic and social growth.

DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL. I TRANSFERED OUT AFTER MY FRESHMAN YEAR BECAUSE I WAS ABSOLUTELY MISERABLE AND WAS LOOKING FOR A BETTER, MORE SERIOUS EDUCATION. THIS IS NOT A SCHOOL FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO LEARN. IF YOU EARNED THE 4.2 GPA (THE AVERAGE FOR A FRESHMAN ENTERING UM) YOU HAVE WORKED HARD. DO NOT WASTE ALL YOUR HARD WORK ON GOING TO THIS SCHOOL. IT IS 100{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} NOT WORTH IT. THIS SCHOOL IS ALL ASCETICS AND NO SUBSTANCE. NO MATTER HOW GOOD THE BROCHURES LOOK OR HOW MUCH YOU ENJOY YOU'RE INITIAL VISIT, THIS SCHOOL DOES NOT LIVE UP TO ITS OWN ADMISSIONS STANDARDS. PLEASE, TAKE MY ADVICE. GO TO A BETTER SCHOOL. CHECK OUT USC, UNC, VANDERBILT, NORTHWESTERN. YOU WILL PROBABLY GET IN, AND YOU WILL BE MUCH BETTER FOR IT. I FEEL MIAMI IS VERY GUILTY OF FALSE ADVERTISING. THIS SCHOOL IS NOT WHAT ANYONE TOLD ME IT WOULD BE. I WAS VERY IMPRESSED AT EVERY INFORMATION SESSION, EVERY VISIT. HOWEVER, GOING TO UMIAMI WAS A HUGE MISTAKE AND I WISH I COULD TAKE IT BACK.

It's basically always summer in Miami but when it rains it rains!! My school is like a tropical paradise in the middle of metropolitan Florida!

The University of Miami is not only beautiful to the naked eye, but the people are beautiful inside and out. I have visited friends at many other schools (ie. Penn Stata, University of Maryland, Northeastern, Rutgers) and none of them contain the amount of energy and happiness that thrives on my campus.

the difference between the University of Miami and other universities is the drive of exellence in the mind of the student body. Its unique point is the long history of researching in the area of Medicine, Sports, Law, Bussiness, Art and Political Science. The interaction of professors and students in the aim of innovation.

The University of Miami has a very good marine science undergraduate program. I am a marine science major and have had a lot of exposure to different avenues of marine science research here. I believe this is due to the variety of marine science professors and researchers on the Coral Gables campus and the Rosenstiel Marine and Atmospheric Science campus. The university's proximity to the ocean and the Florida Keys affords ample opportunity to conduct marine research or just enjoy the marine world.

The faculty and administration are amazing. The help is exceptional and the campus and environment are spendid.
