A person wanting to experience as much as possible.

While they say that you dont have to declare a major until junior year, you should have a good idea what you want to do coming in because taking a bunch of introduction classes is a waste of time here. You should be open minded, friendly and very social at the beginning because, while not exactly "clique-y", close groups are formed quickly here.

I believe an open-minded and academically motivated student should attend this school. Being one of the most diverse campuses in the nation, it is very possible to meet people from all walks of life at this university. One can easily walk down the halls and hear ten different languages being spoken throughout the day. Consequently, someone who embraces diversity is the best fit at the University of Miami. In addition, one must take into the account the rigorous curriculum and realize that dedicated, hard-working, and focused students will succeed.
christopher
A well rounded, energetic person that values cultural diversity and a great education.
Marisa
A driven and focused student interested in being a part of something more than just a learning community, but values academics above all the rest of college life.

Its really anybody. I've met so many different type of people from different cultures, religions, countries, races, and music tastes. You should be focused on academics because UM is a competitive school. You should like to have fun. Whether or not you drink, you can find plenty of things to do. I don't drink and I find plenty of fun activities. So if you like to learn and have fun, this would be a good school to come to.
Omar-Shukri
Fun loving, liberals.

Very open-minded people should attend this school. If you have any prejudices against any race ,religion, or orientation, you should not come to school at the university of miami. We have a huge community of jews, muslims, LGBTs, hispanics, african-americans, as well as kids from every corner of the united states. there are festivals and events that regularly celebrate the different cultures represented at the univeristy of miami, and there are student organizations for many different countries and cultures.

I believe the students who should attend this school should be willing to work hard to acheive their academics. It is a highly competative school and offers a lot of academic challenges. This school offers a lot of undergratuate programs in both the arts (music) and business. There is also a great medical program at this school.

The school is good for everybody. Beach goers, art lovers, clubbers, bar hoppers, greek life, loners...
