The students at UMD are wide and varying. It is not uncommon to walk by a group of student skateboarding or playing hackie-sack right into a group of students break dancing in the common area outside of the bookstore. There are people form all over the world studying at UMD, and while a majority of them are from the Minnesota/Wisconsin area, it is not uncommon to see many different races and ethnic groups represented throughout campus.
