I considered several schools in the Birmingham and Montgomery areas of Alabama, and even visited many of them, but upon visiting Montevallo I knew it was the school I wanted to attend. The atmosphere alone is just incredible. The people on my campus are absolutely the nicest people I have ever met, and there is just such a strong sense of togetherness that it feels like home. I think that makes my school very unique. It was such an amazing feeling to come from a high school where I was often tormented, to a place where everyone feels like family.

I would say that College Night seperates us from eveyone. I love Montevallo because anyone and everyone can be someone. There's a place for everyone on this campus whether it's sports, theater, or greek life. The uniqueness at Montevallo is the size, but also it's Liberal Arts; there's always something new around here!

We don't have a football team like most teams; however, we still have homecoming. Known nationally for our homecoming tradition called College Night. There are three colors: Purple, Gold, and Green. Purple side competes against Gold side in various competitions such as athletic games, sign raising, etc., and it all leads up to the big night where both sides put on a fully student-led production. All the music, choreography, directing, all done by students. At the end, the judges count up all the points and decide who the winner is. It's a great, unique, and unforgettable tradition.

The environment on campus is more friendly than most colleges, and it is easier to make friends. Because of the smaller campus it is easier to become involved in activities and meet new people. The small classes also help learning become an easier task, because the teachers actually take the time to learn names and/or meet outside of class with you to help you with an assignment or talk about a grade you received.

The University of Montevallo provides a unique experience in that the size of a typical class is ideal for learning. The classes are large enough to provide a wide range of perspective, but small enough to allow for intimate conversation and discussion.

Montevallo is a very close-knit community. With the small student body, and excellent student to faculty ratio, the campus has a very cohesive and supportive environment. The experience at Montevallo is unlike that at larger universities. Each professor makes a point to be available for his or her students for additional support outside of the classroom. I never feel alone at this school; there is always a familiar smiling face wherever I am on campus.

The University of Montevallo is literally a home away from home because the enviroment is so peaceful. Every student attending the university shares a pride for the school that is unbreakable. This particular univeristy has some of the oldest traditions that are still on going which provides a little stability within the fun. There is not a teacher working at the University of Montevallo that wants to see anyone fail; they go the extra mile for their students everyday. Overall, it is a freindly atmosphere with amazing people.

The University of Montevallo is more liberal than other solleges in the south. It is also small and comforting while still maintaining the sctrict academic requirements of any college.

I personally believe that the school spirit that both the faculty and students have about this university is more than any other college could possibly ever image. There are so many traditions rooted at the structure of this college that it is impossible to not feel like family with another. Montevallo is my home and I am glad that I pursued my education here. A place that houses desire for both higher learning and a place that becomes your home.

This school has many unique qualities. One of the best is that it has small class sized which encourages student discussion and perfessor involvment. The large majority of the professors have their PhD in the feild they are teaching and not of the courses are tought by teaching assistants. The campus is largely diverse in ethnicity and religion and their are encouragement groups just about everything especially diversity.

Their are many different cultures and it is really diverse in many ways. It is smaller than normal schools, maybe around 3,000 students total.

Montevallo is a school with an equal balance of high school spirit and motivation to exeed academically.

It is a small University as compared to many. This is great because the class room size is not that big and the professor will know your name. You get to know your professor and can email or text them for any questions concerning class and lessons taught.

This school is very small. You get a lot of one on one time with your professors.

Compared to many of the schools i have been to, my school is very different. The thing i like best about my school which i think makes it unique is the road. Instead of asphalt, there are bricks. I think that is so cool.

The University of Montevallo is "Alabama's best kept secret." Not only for the astounding students, faculty, and staff but because of the traditions. The oldest tradition of Montevallo is College Night. The entire university splits into two sides: purple and gold. For months, the students write a play which includes painting the sets, designing the costumes, coreographing dances, composing the music, and so forth. During January, purple and gold compete in intramurals. And then in February, purple and gold teams perform their plays. Points are awarded for each intramural game won and the judgement of the better play.
