Overall, the best thing about Montevallo is the people--there are so many amazing people to talk to, experience good and bad classes, and make memories with! We all really come together to participate in campus activities, organize study groups, and network across all levels of ethnicity, gender, orientation, and grade. We are such an interesting conglomeration of people from many different backgrounds, which lends to new experiences that otherwise I would not have. I believe that this campus has the best group of students out of any college!

The mood the environment creates. Everyone surrounding you is open-minded and free willed and it is very inviting for everyone. I feel it is a place where you could open up and share all of your insecutirites and know you will never be judged. Montevallo feels like it's own little free of judgement bubble, outside from the rest of the world.

My school is very diverse and accepting in all things. It has a supporting environment for all endevors you wish to persue within it's major's list. The teachers are all well trained and take time to give individual attention to each student. Why are these the best things? Because they set the stage for excelence not only in a 4 year college but far beyond as well.

The best thing would be the instructors. They are there when you need them. You can call on them just about any time of the day for help.

The best thing about The University of Montevallo is the class size. I attented The University of Alabama for a year and a half but the classes were so large and everyone sat somewhere different everyday, that I ended up making hardly any friends in the class. Also, it was almost impossible to have one on one time with the teacher. Montevallo is the total opposite. It is perfect and very easy to make new friends and get classroom help.
Chelsea
The University of Montevallo has this magnificent homecoming tradition called College Night. The school divides into two sides, Purples and Golds, and has a series of athletic and theatrical competitions. Only one side is the technical victor, but both sides feel victorious in personal relationships and learning. I recently experienced my first college night, and I was so moved by the team spirit I witnessed. There really is nothing like it. It's a great way for students to get involved in their school and form new friendships, as well as an opportunity for learning.

I consider the fact that my school is diverse the best thing about it. Before I came here, I was from a small twon where everyone was judged based on appearance. Coming here taught me that it's not what you look like, your race, or your sexual prefferance that shows who you truly are. I would have never learned to be accepting of people without going to a very diverse college.
