It is a very fun atmosphere. There is a serious campus life, and off campus you can relax and have fun.

UNR is situated in a really amazing place. It is surrounded by majestic mountains, soggy meadows, jagged cliffs, pulsing rivers, and open land that is ready to be explored. Because of this, UNR attracts many different types of people with a common interest of taking advantage of Reno and Tahoe's natural beauty. Most students at UNR spend their downtime at the mountain resorts or relaxing on the beach of Lake Tahoe, both of which are activities that most other students from other schools cannot partake in.

Brannon

UNR is a relatively small campus with a small population. The classes are not too big and this is conducive to learning. I have been in huge lecture halls before and they are typically unruly, loud, and frustrating.

Tara

My university is unique mostly due to its proximity to various recreational resources. The college is less than an hour drive away from Lake Tahoe, where water sports, boating and swimming is available. Also, we are in close proximity to casinos, bars and clubs for the socially inclined students. It snows a lot in Reno, therefore snowboarding, skiing, and other winter sports are a common practice. Overall, it is the location that makes the college stand out from the rest. The price for tuition is pretty reasonable as well, making it appealing to those who cannot afford much for education.
